Introduction

前言
20世纪50年代，已故蒋明谦教授写过一本《高等药物化学》，这是当时国际上专门讨论药物设计和结构活性关系的早期专著之一。以后近50年来，国内曾出版过数种供药学院系本科生和硕士生用的药物化学教材，但未有一本全面阐述药物分子设计原理方法，药物的作用机理和各大类药物研发新进展的高级读物和中型参考书。
20世纪80年代后，药物化学的研究对象和内容有了很大的扩充和延伸。目前药物的化学合成、制造工艺及药物化学分析均已发展成独立的药学分支学科。而一些管理和经济学科正融入到药物化学中，使药物设计、研发与全球和各国的社会经济发展水平以及医疗保险紧密结合。另一方面药物作用机理和体内过程的研究也已成为药物化学涉及的重要领域。本书的内容及时反映了药物化学学科的这一变迁。
本书内容覆盖了药物化学中的各个领域，是一本系统性强，原理和实践并重的药物化学参考书。在体裁上它有别于已出版的同类书籍。总论部分对药物研究开发的理论、方法、技术、战略战术以及相关学科对本学科的推动等方面的内容进行了比较全面、系统、深入的介绍。对新药研发的法规、药物经济学、药物的知识产权保护，糖类、蛋白质、趋化因子类药物和手性药物均有专章介绍。反映了药物化学最新进展以及与管理科学和经济学的紧密结合。各论部分重点讲述各类药物近15年的新进展，同时又对临床上重要的药物作总结性的回顾。各论中以各类药物分子设计，结构与活性的关系和作用原理为重点。限于篇幅，一些近十年进展不大或应用面不广的药物，例如抗寄生虫病药物、抗甲状腺药物、维生素、造影剂、放射性同位素药物和光敏治疗药物等，则被略去。
各章撰写者都是从事该领域研究的专家，熟悉该领域最新动态。每章末均有最新、最重要的参考读物和文献，以便读者根据这些文献对相关领域作更深入的调研。
由于本书有数十位作者，各人文笔和各章体裁不尽相同，望读者谅解。2008年开始，国家对新药研发投入巨资，我国新药研发正面临新的契机。希望本书的出版对推动我国新药研发，对从事药物化学和新药研发的各类人员的工作有所裨益。
