4.矛盾之争
矛盾律
矛盾律是逻辑规律的另一个重要的规律，说的是关于思想认识不可自相矛盾的规律。矛盾律要求人们在逻辑思维上，在同一思维过程中，如果条件相同，那么从同一方面，对同一事物的思想认识一定要做到首尾一致，不能既肯定某事物具有某种性质，又否定该事物具有某种性质，这样才不会违反矛盾律。
我们可以使用公式来表述矛盾律，矛盾律的公式表现为A不是非A，例如：天空是蓝色的。天空不是蓝色的。这两个判断互相矛盾，两者不能同时为真。如果把这两个判断非要放在同一议论中都加以肯定，那就违反了矛盾律。
我们再看生活中的两个例子：①晚上八点的时候，市中心的邮政大厦整个大楼灯火辉煌，只有一个办公室是黑的，没有开灯。②在学校每周四的组织生活会上，大家都响应党中央的号召，互相做了自我批评。上述两例都违反了矛盾律。例①“灯火辉煌”和“灯没亮”、“整座大楼”和“一个办公室”是自相矛盾的，既然整座大楼都灯火辉煌，就应当看不见一个办公室的灯没亮。例②的“自我批评”是对自己的行为和思想进行检查和反省的；互相自我批评是不对的。
需要注意的是，按照矛盾律的规律，它排斥人们思维中的逻辑矛盾，但我们不能因此就否定了客观事物本身的矛盾。这两种矛盾不能混为一谈，属于两个问题。
矛盾律和排中律（是关于人们思想认识必须保持明确性的规律）关系紧密，它们之间既有联系又有区别，一般情况下，如果违反了排中律，也一定会违反矛盾律，但反过来就不一定了，也就是说如果违反了矛盾律，却不一定违反了排中律。运用排中律可以进一步指出两个互相矛盾的判断，其中一定有一个是真。运用矛盾律却只能指出两个自相矛盾的论断，其中一定有一个是假；排中律只在互相矛盾的关系判断中起作用，矛盾律是在两个互相反对或互相矛盾的关系判断中都起作用。
