　　逢年過節，遇到久沒見面的親朋好友總不免俗的都會問候：「最近好嗎？」含蓄客套一點的會回應：「還好，還可以，過得去……」積極一點會說：「很好！好極了！……」但是我們真正關心的問題是：「你快樂嗎？」

　　談到快樂，就不得不提到美國在開國之初，他們的建國領袖在獨立宣言裡寫道：「……下述真理不證自明：凡人生而平等，秉造物者之賜，擁有無可轉讓之權利，包含生命權、自由權與追尋快樂的權利。」也就是說，他們認為讓後代子孫能追求快樂這件事，重要到連拋頭顱、灑熱血、家破人亡都值得，怪不得美國後來成為一個令全球許多人嚮往的國家。

　　接下來的問題就很重要了：什麼是快樂？快樂可以學習嗎？

　　很高興本書作者班夏哈教授告訴我們：絕對可以！這位作者是哈佛大學心理系的知名教授，他的「正向心理學」這門課是學校目前最受歡迎的課，美國最頂尖的大學生都排隊要聽他的課。很高興的是：我們不用排隊，也不需要付一年超過百萬台幣的學費，就能透過這本書來了解這兩個問題的答案。

快樂沒有捷徑

　　我是個生意人。我一直認為一個人在工作上找不到意義、樂趣，基本上是不可能找到真正的快樂。我也始終相信，有快樂的員工，才會有快樂的顧客，也才會有快樂的企業、快樂的社會。如果這是對的，為什麼「生意人」不把如何提供一個有意義、有樂趣的工作，當成最重要的策略之一呢？

　　我非常喜歡作者以「Happier」為書名，而不是一般的Happiness。Happier是正向心理學（Positive Psychology）最重要的觀念。正向心理學是一門研究快樂的人為什麼會快樂，以及如何讓人更快樂的科學。

　　記得在一個偶然的機會中，我在網路上看到一段班夏哈在哈佛大學的課程錄影。《更快樂》這本書最成功的地方，就是在於作者能將正向心理學的學術研究，用簡單且易懂的方式，讓一群從小就在「你贏我輸」的競爭遊戲規則中長大的天之驕子，重新思考什麼是人生的「終極貨幣」。

　　在台灣，我受到好友David Wagner所啟發，開始推廣「悅日人」的人生哲學。「悅日人」哲學希望每個人、每一天都能有意識地讓每個跟自己接觸的人（尤其是陌生人），因為我們的一句話、一個行動而感到快樂，成為自己與別人的「快樂製造機」（好友吳金津）、「快樂推進器」。

　　賽利格曼（Martin Seligman）的《真實的快樂》（Authentic Happiness）對我而言是個啟蒙。發現正向心理學，在追尋人生快樂中，等於是找到了一個學術理論基礎。二○○六年，我的教練陳郁敏正好是賽利格曼的學生，介紹我許多有關正向心理學的概念，也嘗試著把正向心理學導入企業的終極目標——如何讓每個人更快樂一點，如何利用「悅日人」來改變世界。

　　因此，我認為班夏哈的《更快樂》這本書，是每個企業領導人、經理人必讀的經典書。我強力推薦對正向心理學有興趣的企業老闆、經理人、教練，用心地讀完這本書，然後努力建立一個工作環境，讓你的員工從事「能做、想做、有意義也有樂趣的工作」。

　　我們都有一個迷思，以為找到了喜歡的工作很重要。其實真正的快樂不是做喜歡的工作，而是做能發揮自己長項（Strengths）的事。因此找出自己的長項，比找到喜歡的工作更重要。當你懂得運用自己的長項，從事一個有意義、有使命感的志業時，就會找到樂趣與快樂。班夏哈在課堂中也一再提醒學生，工作態度比工作本身更能創造樂趣；快樂沒有捷徑，需要「一次又一次的經歷點點滴滴逐步堆積」。

　　正如作者所預言，我也相信正向心理學所提倡的快樂是人生最高目標，勢必將引發一場寧靜的「快樂革命」，讓更多的學校、企業開始重視正向心理學。因為正向心理學是個經過不斷實驗、研究的行為科學，而不是經由宗教、心靈療癒、潛能開發、自我成長訓練營或靈修大師（Guru）所啟發的信仰。
如果你真心希望自己能變得「更快樂一點」，光看這本書是不夠的。也要用心地做每章文末所附的練習題，才能開始養成新的習慣，參加「快樂革命」。追求快樂不是你爭我奪的「零和遊戲」，而是一場「非零和遊戲」（nonzero sum game）或「正和遊戲」（positive sum game ）。當我們幫助別人得到快樂時，也會找到自己的快樂。
