01.不要忘記回家的路

每當台北下起雨，我就會想起那個陽光傾瀉的家鄉。

剛接到母親從台中打來的電話，跟她說了昨晚就已經買好儲備的食糧，這幾天應該會待在宿舍工作。說著瑣碎的同時，突然感受到母親的擔憂還是一個樣，我在她的心中仍然是個孩子。電話另一頭隱約聽見弟弟妹妹待在家裡的聲音，像是之前高中在每個週末醒來時，耳邊聽到他們玩耍時小小的笑聲。

突然發現這是我這幾個禮拜以來第一次好好跟家人說話；學會長大，就好像得學會讓時間把一切都放大，把自己的未來放大、把自己的意見與想法都放大，回家的路也被拉得好長。

我一直以來都是家中最小的兒子，直到國小三年級最大的弟弟出生，也因為住在一起生活著，對家人並沒有特別濃烈的情感。考上大學後，一個人獨自拖著行李來到台北，才明白不管帶上多少行囊，都裝不進對於家的想念。

離開家後的我，對於拼湊這個世界逐漸完整，好像踏遍了每一個角落，卻怎麼都踏不上那條回家的路。

上一次意識到自己長大，是母親又問起我的近況，我懂得報喜不報憂了。我過得很好、飯都有準時吃、晚上沒有太晚睡，對母親撒點小謊並不是想要拿到小時候總期待拿到的印章獎勵，而是不想讓母親擔心；如何成為一個好兒子和一個好兄長，是我這輩子一直在學習的事。

每每回家，我都覺得弟弟妹妹又長更高了，那是一種看到他們成長的喜悅、卻又希望他們永遠單純的矛盾。《麥田捕手》裡的霍爾頓說：「成長很像成千上萬個孩子在一大片麥田裡面奔跑，而他就站在懸崖邊守護那些在麥田中遊戲的孩子，若是有人跑到懸崖邊，他就會去抓住那些孩子，以免他們落到懸崖下面。」可以的話，我也想成為弟弟妹妹的麥田捕手，確保他們踏上的是一條不會受傷、不會失望的路，但心底卻也知道跌倒之後才有真正的成長。

上次回家，兩個弟弟清空了餐桌，在桌上架了個可拆式的桌球網、打起了乒乓球，我和最小的妹妹則坐在一旁，一邊攪動著杯裡的麥片、一邊觀看兩個小兄弟的球賽。橘黃色的球一乒一乓的來回跳動，讓我想起了電影《真愛每一天》。男主角在父親離開後被問起了想要回到哪一段時光，他說：「他想要再和爸爸打一場桌球」，鏡頭便轉到父親離開之前，父子倆在客廳裡打桌球的光景。我想，往後日子裡想到一起走過的時光，腦海中浮現的畫面，都是那些盛大之外，最平凡的場景。所以只要一有空回家，就會陪著家人一起吃早餐，然後牽著弟弟的手、踩著紅紅的磚去上學，那大概是離家讀書之後，我能陪伴他們留下的成長軌跡。

長大的課題我一直在學習，能否成為理想中的樣子是個永遠無解的問題，風和雨也會不停地吹進無奈的生命，但我們可以選擇帶著僅有的陽光繼續上路；一路上，我們努力學習寬厚、學習坦蕩，但我也一直明白，再怎麼努力仍會有到達不了遠方的時候，卻不能忘記怎麼回家。
