茶具的選擇與搭配實在變化多端，奧妙無窮，十分有趣。因為它所牽動的細節很多，所以沒辦法簡單地做什麼定論。

從最寬廣的層次來看，所有的茶具都有它的局限性，同時，也有它的可能性。我們常用一句似非而是的話來討論這種情況：有局限才有創造。當然，這主要是針對有功底的玩家而言，或者願意下功夫的人而言。

由於許多玩伴實事求是的精神，帶起一股探尋各種可能的朝氣，常常顛覆了我們過往的品茶經驗。有時從並不是什麼茶具的選擇與搭配名貴的茶壺中泡出令人驚嘆的

茶湯，有時從看起來不香的茶杯中飄散出神祕而又奇妙的幽香……，使得我們藉以不斷地拓展我們的視野與心胸。

我們搭配茶具的時候，通常會從泡什麼茶開始想。把茶泡得很好喝，發散出教人感動的魅力，永遠是茶主人最核心的課題，那也是和我們一起品茶的朋友最期待的事。

我們先選好茶葉，然後依照茶性和自己喜愛的口味，挑選最適合的茶壺、茶杯和茶盅。其實泡茶的茶具除了茶壺外，還有蓋杯也經常用來泡茶。而茶壺，又有瓷壺、陶壺、宜興紫砂壺…… 等等不同材質的茶壺，它們泡茶的效果都不相同，各有各的優點。我們可以用同樣的茶葉做對照，分別以蓋杯、瓷壺、陶壺、紫砂壺來泡茶，仔細比較茶湯的風味後，銘記在心上，以後便可以隨著心情、季節的溫度、各種茶葉的特質，靈活地選擇不同的茶具來使用，以求達到最滿意的效果。

即使同樣是紫砂壺，或瓷壺，由於茶壺的大小、器形、胎土厚度……等等因素的差異，每一把壺泡出來的茶湯滋味又都不一樣。如果我們試一試，用同樣的杯子品嚐，而用兩把紫砂壺泡同樣的茶葉，就可以感覺出茶湯的風味有明顯的差別。

茶杯對於茶湯的香氣和滋味的影響也是很大的，茶杯的力量足以改變茶湯的風味。

假如我們用同一把壺，泡同樣的茶葉，而用兩組不同的杯子來品嚐，茶湯的風味應該就不同了。這個法則，在換了茶盅的時候，也是一樣的。

換句話說，茶壺、茶杯、茶盅共同締造茶湯的風味，每一件茶具的特質都直接影響茶湯最後的風貌。我們在搭配茶具的時候，多做一些對照的功夫，就可以找到茶葉和茶具之間最和諧的關係。不過記得，每次只能更動一個條件，才能得到清楚的

印象，否則感覺就會模糊不清。在搭配茶具時，還要考慮品茶的人數多寡，茶壺所泡出來的茶湯，和茶杯的數量、大小容量比例要相當。

泡淡茶時，搭配大點的杯子，喝起來比較有滿足感；泡濃茶時，適合選用小杯品啜。
