2015年，我国P2P借贷行业保持高速发展态势，年度总体成交额是2014年的3倍左右。在经济下行导致行业面临优质资产荒的同时，专注消费金融和供应链金融领域的垂直平台密集涌现，在资产端寻求突破口；传统金融机构逐渐融入P2P借贷生态圈，银行、保险、地方交易所、资产证券化等传统金融工具和渠道被引入；风险资本向成熟平台的后轮融资倾斜，行业发展的马太效应初步呈现。

与此同时，行业多年高速发展所累积的问题在2015年也表现的愈加明显，风险事件持续发生，每月新增问题平台数量一度超过新上线平台数量，平台诈骗跑路事件有增无减，给行业造成前所未有的负面影响：一方面投资人信心遭受打击；另一方面监管方持续收紧相关政策，引起连锁反应。
