Mixing test of hougu rice





I finally finished drinking a whole box of Hoogu rice noodles today, and decided to make a brief summary of the various combinations I have tried. Because Hougu rice was bought earlier, there is no way to add tag. If you are interested in trying it, you may search for it yourself.


1. Drink directly


There will be a very light fragrance, and it may be difficult for those who eat more heavily to taste it, like I am used to eating the original flavor of various ingredients (because people are lazy and don't Don't dry all kinds of grains and vegetables, throw them into the pot and steam them and eat them directly), the original flavor of Hougu rice water is not bad for me.


2. Add sugar or various sweeteners


Sugar and several natural sweeteners and artificial sweeteners have been tried. Although I like sweetness, I would recommend sugar and sweeteners with low sweetness. The taste of Hougu rice water itself is too light, and the addition of sweeteners with high sweetness will be a bit too much, which simply does not match.


Here is an explanation of the sweetener issue. First of all, sweetness. Generally speaking, sweeteners will be dozens or even hundreds of times sweeter than sugar. For example, Luo Han Guo sweet is the sweetness of sucrose.300 times. In addition to the sweetness, the taste of different sweeteners is also different. Some may be more harmonious with black tea, and some are more suitable with coffee. In addition to the fact that the body does have a problem with the metabolism of a certain sweetener, most people can choose sugar or a certain sweetener according to their personal preferences. Girls who lose weight can consider adding sweeteners instead of sugar.


3. Pair with sweeter, thinner brewed beverages


The old ginger tea in the picture below is an example. Drinking it alone is a slightly ginger-flavored sugar water. When paired with Monkey King Rice, the taste and texture are complete. This type of drink can also be paired with unsweetened black sesame paste, coix seed powder and the like. Before Yamibuy's discount, I stocked up a lot of various cereal powders, and I tried various mixed brewing solutions.




4. Matcha powder


Matcha powder is actually not very soluble, and there will be slag when directly brewing milk. However, the rice water can make the matcha powder more evenly dispersed in it, and there will be no residue left in the bowl after drinking. Whether to add sugar or not depends on personal preference, and I personally feel that each has its own characteristics.




5. Creamer 


I don't have condensed milk at home, I just sawcreamer and tried it, the sweetness Not enough, but you can add a bit of milk to the rice thin, and the overall effect is not bad. Personally, I think Meichao's various creamerincluding coconut milk and almond milk versions can be used with rice water to try.




6. Chia seeds


This picture is not to increase the taste, after all, the chia seeds themselves have no taste. The taste will be better, if you like to drink it and you can chew a little something. The picture below is a package of rice mixed with 3kerchia seeds and about250ml of water.








7. A rant about various salty attempts


①Scallion version

No matter how much I like scallion pancakes, scallion biscuits and other foods, I really don't like the scallion version of Hougu rice water. Probably because I am a northerner who grew up drinking sweet porridge, except for preserved egg and lean meat porridge, salty porridge is usually not on my menu.


②Black pepper+salt

This is my favorite combination for fried chicken batter, but it's kind of weird with rice noodles. It is said that there is also a combination of adding pepper, I thought about it and decided not to torture myself.


③Chicken Essence

I don’t know why I added two tablespoons of chicken essence to the rice on a whim (Totole’s, Yami sells it), but the taste = sticky+Greasy, inexplicably thinking of the unsalted old hen soup I was forced to drink when I was a child.

Sometimes I just want to add some cold water after brewing, but I also pour a little bit of barley tea, rice cracker, etc. in the cup, but I can't taste it. If you are curious about this, you might as well add a tea bag to it when you boil the water, and try brewing a bag directly with tea.


In fact, there are still many ideas that I haven't tried, such as adding mustard (I ate the mustard dumplings that my classmates spoofed when I was studying, but I actually like it hahahaha), soaked ham or sausage (not Cantonese-style sweet, the sausages that the family fills every year are pure salty, and the millet porridge is especially fragrant).

猴姑米稀搭配试验





今天终于喝完了一整盒猴姑米稀,决定给自己试验过的各种搭配做个小总结。因为猴姑米稀买的比较早,现在已经没有办法加tag,有兴趣尝试的话不妨自己搜一下。


1. 直接喝


会有一点很淡的香味,平时吃的比较重口的小伙伴可能很难尝出来,像我习惯了吃各种食材的原味(因为人懒,没少干各种粮食、蔬菜都丢进锅里蒸熟直接吃这种事),猴姑米稀的原味对我来说就还不错。


2. 加糖或各种甜味剂


糖和几种天然甜味剂、人工甜味剂都试过,虽然我嗜甜,但是会比较推荐甜度底的糖和甜味剂。猴姑米稀本身味道太淡,甜度高的甜味剂加进去会有点过分,简单地说就是不搭。


这里解释一下甜味剂的问题。首先甜度,通常来说甜味剂会有糖几十甚至几百倍的甜度,比如罗汉果甜是蔗糖甜度的300倍。除了甜度,其实不同甜味剂的味道也是有区别的,可能有的配红茶比较和谐,有的配咖啡比较合适。除了身体确实对某种甜味剂代谢有问题之类的情况,大部分人完全可以凭个人喜好选择糖或某种甜味剂,减肥的妹子可以考虑搭配甜味剂而不是糖。


3. 搭配比较甜而稀的冲泡型饮品


下图的老姜茶是个例子,单独喝就是有点姜味的糖水,搭配上猴姑米稀就味道、口感都有了。这种类型的饮品还可以搭配无糖的黑芝麻糊、薏仁粉之类。之前亚米折扣的时候各种谷物粉什么的囤多了,没少尝试各种混合冲泡的方案。




4. 抹茶粉


抹茶粉其实溶解度并不好,直接泡牛奶等会有渣渣。但是米稀可以让抹茶粉比较均匀地分散在里面,喝完之后碗里不会留渣渣。加不加糖看个人爱好,个人觉得各有特色。




5. Creamer 


家里没有炼乳,刚好看到creamer就试了试,甜度不太够但是可以给米稀加点奶香,整体效果还不错。个人觉得美超的各种creamer包括椰奶、杏仁奶版本都可以用来搭配米稀试试。




6. 奇亚籽


这个图的不是增加味道,毕竟奇亚籽本身也没什么味道。口感会比较好,如果喜欢喝的同时能嚼到一点什么的话。下下图是一包米稀配3克奇亚籽和大约250毫升水的效果。








7. 关于各种咸口尝试的吐槽


①葱花版

不管我有多喜欢葱油饼、葱香饼干之类的食品,葱花版猴姑米稀我真的喜欢不起来。可能因为我是喝甜粥长大的北方人,除了皮蛋瘦肉粥,咸粥通常不在我的菜单里。


②黑胡椒粉+

这是我调炸鸡面糊最喜欢的组合,但是跟米稀搭配有种说不出的怪。据说还有加胡椒粉这种搭配,我想了想还是决定不折磨自己。


③鸡精

不知道自己为什么会突发奇想给米稀加了两勺鸡精(太太乐的,亚米有卖),但是口感=粘稠+油腻,莫名想到了小时候被逼着喝的不加盐的老母鸡汤。


写在最后:


有时候刚泡完想加点凉水,看到杯子里有大麦茶、锅巴茶什么的也会倒一点进去,基本都尝不出来。对此好奇的小伙伴不妨烧水的时候就把茶包加进去,直接用茶水冲一包试试。


其实还有很多想法没试过,比如加芥末(读书的时候吃过同学恶搞的芥末饺子其实我还挺喜欢的哈哈哈哈),泡火腿或香肠(不是广式那种甜的,家里每年自己灌的香肠都是纯咸口,泡小米粥特香)。
