BBQ Flavor

Shop All

As an American, I love BBQ. However, I never thought of putting that flavor in a chip. I was nervous to try these because I was concerned how someone could make a potato chip that tasted like meat without being gross or greasy. These were surprisingly so good, and they definitely tasted like real BBQ!! There is definitely a meaty aftertaste once you’re done chewing, but overall the flavor mixes with the chip nicely. I can picture these chips being good for a Superbowl party or a family barbeque!

Honey Butter Chip

Shop All

This chip was the flavor I was most excited to try in my order! Honey butter is not a new flavor to me, as it is popular in United States southern style cooking. However, I have never had snacks in this flavor, let alone a potato chip. My first assumption of the chip was that it would be mostly salty with a bit of a sweet aftertaste. I was correct in the thought that at first, the chip tastes salty. After a second you taste the butter and sweetness of the honey. It really tastes like someone soaked the chips in the French Gourmet Butter that is mentioned on the packaging! The sweetness of the chip really lingers, but in a good way that makes you want more! The chip was a little thicker than a normal potato chip, but overall I think this flavor is one that you could munch on while watching TV or add to a snack mix for a sweet and savory combo!

GGE BBQ Flavored Wheat Crackers

Shop All

At first glance, I was nervous to try these. Not because of the bbq flavor, but because they looked like croutons or mini rice cakes and I wasn’t sure how the flavors and texture would combine. However, these were easily my favorite! The bbq flavor was subtle but delicious. The texture of the snack was surprisingly enjoyable. The cracker sort of fell apart in your mouth after the first bite. I could see mixing these into a snack mix with out savory treats.

Lay’s Kyushu Seaweed

Shop All

I had high hopes for this flavor, but sadly it just was not for me! My family on the other hand really enjoyed the rich flavor of these Kyushu Seaweed chips. At first glance, they look like sour cream and onion chips--a plain potato chip base loaded up with green seasoning. That is where the similarities ended though. The chips tasted fishy as if they were made right in the ocean. I don’t personally eat seafood, so the flavor was a little intense for me. The seaweed flavor is very prominent and you can taste it in your mouth after swallowing. The chip was also very thin considering its strong flavor, which I thought was amazing. How did they pack so much flavor onto such a small surface? Overall, these were not my favorite chips in the batch but I can see how they can be a fan favorite for others!
