Snacks Recommendation from Culinary Nutritionist

This is a perfect addition to a charcuterie board! The word "potato" on the packaging made me think it was one of those baked potato chips. I was wrong! It’s not the usual baked potato chips that you can buy in local stores. It is more like a very thin cracker that almost melts in your mouth after every bite. Yeah, it’s that good! The taste is similar to the common disk-shaped crackers you see in grocery stores but thinner (way thinner!), crisper, and less crumbly. It also has that creamy flavor to it, a tad of sweetness and a hint of butter. I had some of it with cheese dip, some cheddar slices and cocktail olives, and I also enjoyed it on its own – perfect in any way! I love it! The 240g box comes in with 12 separate packages inside. And, each pack has uniformly SLIM pieces of goodness!

As taro root is naturally very subtle in flavor, this chips is definitely not too far from the real deal. I love the thin cut of this chip that makes it really crispy! The fact that this wasn’t too salty at all, it makes a very good alternative to the heavily salted crunchy snacks out there! So, if you’re looking for neutrally flavored chips that aren’t overwhelmingly greasy and salty to go with any dip, this is a perfect choice! I cannot think of other chips to compare this with. You gotta try it!

I’ve tried tons of ube chips that I can find but I just can’t get my hands on one that tastes like real ube (purple yam). And when I found this Maxi brand of ube chips, I was genuinely happy! Every bite is nostalgia for me. It is definitely the ube I know growing up! Plus, it doesn’t have nasty food additives or artificial coloring…YAY to that!

If you’re not a fan of mushrooms, I’d say, give this snack a chance! It’s flavorful but doesn’t have that distinct earthy taste that is innate for most mushrooms. This chip has a very subtle umami flavor – one bag can go a long way! Mushrooms are naturally packed with protein so having this as an alternative to other carbohydrate-rich chips available out there is a win! After trying this for the first time, I tried topping a few crushed pieces on my noodle soup to add texture. It did not disappoint! I’m definitely a fan.
