《变革中的管理：社会生态学视角话管理》收录的文章写作时间的跨度超过了40年。最早的一篇《凯恩斯：作为一个神奇系统的经济学》（注：见《管理的新角色》一书）发表于1964年；而最近的一篇《后记：一位社会生态学家的反思》是专为《变革中的管理：社会生态学视角话管理》而写，成于1992年。这些文章都保留了当时的原貌，只是个别篇章的题目有所变动。虽然所涉甚杂，但皆有一个中心思想，那就是“关注社会生态学”，即人为环境。每篇文章或是探究人与社会的互动，或是思考人与社区的关联。这些文章皆欲以经济、技术及艺术作为社会经验之维度与社会价值之体现，但它们都不是理论性的文章。最接近理论的两篇是《管理的角色》（注：见《管理的新角色》一书）与《信息、交流与理解》，前者试图将管理理论呈现为社会组织的特殊社会功能，后者试图将信息看作是同时包括逻辑和认知两个方面，即通讯与理解。但这两篇，亦不能算是“纯的”理论。即便是那些很“实际的”、讨论“具体措施”的文章，也有其理论基础，抑或说理论维度。所有文章都是散文风格，我希望读者能够轻松阅读。

Author Description

彼得·F. 德鲁克，管理学科的开创者，被尊为“大师中的大师”、“现代管理学之父”，他称自己是“社会生态学家”。他的思想被传播到了130多个国家，对社会学和经济学的影响颇为深远，其著作架起了从工业时代到知识时代的桥梁。1909年德鲁克生于维也纳的一个书香门第，1931年获得法兰克福大学国际法博士学位，1937年移居美国，一生以教书、著书和咨询为业。2005年11月11日，德鲁克在加州克莱蒙特的家中溘然长逝，享年95岁。他著述颇丰，包括《管理的实践》、《卓有成效的管理者》、《管理：任务、责任和实践》、《旁观者》等几十部著作，以30余种文字出版，总销售量超过600万册。他还曾7次获得“麦肯锡奖”，2002年6月，获得当年的“总统自由勋章”，这是美国公民所能获得的最高荣誉。20世纪80年代，德鲁克的思想被引入中国，2004年，德鲁克管理学全面进入中国的管理教育领域。
