Content Description

初版名为《实用汉英翻译词典》，曾荣获第五届国家辞书奖。现经十五年不断扩容、反复修订，更名为《汉英翻译大词典》，既突出汉英翻译实践之重点，又兼顾第二汉语教学之刚需。收词以译法多变的普通词语为主，广收习语、成语及新词，兼收政治、经济、文化、科技用语，共约7万条。译释以助升汉译英实际效果为导向，融语法学、语义学、语用学、翻译学知识于一体，力求更为适用。所有词目均先标明词性，再给出相应译法。同一词目若有多种词性，则逐一列出，分别加以译释。精心选配实际译例，并专备不含对应词的活译、巧译，置于◇之后，以利拓宽译路，达意传神。增设“用法与辨析”栏目，简要介绍英语词语之细微区别及用法要点，以便译者正确选用。配有多种特色附录，与词典正文相辅相成，便于领略中国历史、民俗、文化等方面重要信息。词典编排力求层次分明、版面清新、字体醒目、检索方便，尽可能让读者轻松查阅，一索即得。
Author Description

吴文智，中国译协专家会员，中国译协理事，江苏省译协秘书长，从事翻译与翻译研究三十余年。2009年获得“江苏省建国六十年来外国语言文学与翻译研究优秀成果”特别贡献奖。在《外语研究》、《上海翻译》等十余种公开报刊上发表译文、论文百余篇，在三十余家出版社出版过专著、著作、译著八十余部，总计四千余万字。所翻译《YOU：身体使用手册》系列书籍，为2006年以来的畅销书和常销书；所主编《实用汉英翻译词典》获第五届国家辞书奖二等奖；《别让医生杀了你》获2004年“全国大学版畅销书”二等奖。

钱厚生，商务印书馆副总编辑、编审，曾任南京大学海外教育学院副院长。1957年出生，1982年获南京大学英国语言文学学士学位，1989年获英国纽卡斯尔大学英语语言学硕士学位，为英国伦敦大学学院名誉研究员，牛津大学出版社特约编审。已出版专著《英汉问候语告别语对比研究》等，译著《写意牡丹》(汉译英)等，双语辞典《英汉百科知识辞典》(副主编)、《实用汉英翻译词典》(第二主编)、《新英汉成语词典》(主编)、《汉英对照中国古代名言词典》(主编)等。发表论文《语料库建设与词典编纂》、《双语词典释义原则与问题》、《双语词典设计理念探微》、《语义分析与双语词典》、《语用分析与双语词典》、《人际修辞学论略》、《礼貌语言研究: 理论与方法》、《汉语礼貌语言手段说略》、《英语礼貌语言手段说略》等。

《汉英翻译大词典》历经15 年精心打磨，终于迎来了出版的曙光。这本被列入“十二五”国家重点图书出版规划项目的双语词典，是在本作者团队原编《实用汉英翻译词典》（漓江出版社2001 年出版，2003年获第五届国家辞书奖）的基础上重新构思，由南京大学、南京师范大学等十多所高校数十位外语专家学者再度通力合作完成的。
在词典编纂过程中，所有参与者集思广益，既博采国内外各种汉英词典与英汉词典之长，又注意克服以往汉英词典编写中释义单一、不够实用的缺陷，积极注入当今双语词典编写的新思维，在突出汉英翻译工作重点的同时，适当兼顾第二汉语学习的现实需求，力求做到收词多、释义准、内容新、例句丰富、篇幅适中、字体醒目、编排合理、实用性强，为广大使用者提供切切实实的帮助。
具体讲来，我们经过反复认真的研究，在广泛听取汉英词典使用者建议的基础上，最终确定从以下几个方面积极开拓、不断努力，以形成本词典自身的特色：
一、 收词以译法多变的普通词语为主，广收习语、成语及新词，兼收政治、经济、文化、科技用语，共约7 万条。

值此词典付梓之际，让我们难以忘怀的是外语界、翻译界众多专家学者曾经给予我们的关爱、支持与指导。中国辞书学会副会长、中国译协名誉理事、南京大学张柏然教授从词典体例的设计到词语的选择、条目的编排，一直给我们以悉心指导。中国修辞学会前会长、中外语言文化比较学会前副会长、上海外国语大学王德春教授曾亲自为我们的词典项目撰写评语，提出很有价值的编纂方向意见。本词典前身《实用汉英翻译词典》出版后不久，著名语言学专家、《汉英词典》（第三版）主编、北京外国语大学姚小平教授在他正式发表的双语词典专论中对我们的工作给予一定程度的嘉评。还有，中国社科院语言所研究员李志江先生、漓江出版社前社长刘硕良先生、漓江出版社前总编辑宋安群先生、商务印书馆总编辑周洪波博士，都对我们的工作给予了热情的鼓励和支持。
在词典的编辑、制作环节，译林出版社领导予以大力支持，特别为我们邀请到南京大学英语名师、双语词典编纂专家刘纯豹教授担任主审，率领其双语词典研编团队对本词典进行精心审订，并增补许多汉语新词新译，确实为本词典增色很多。对此，我们全体编者共同表示深深的敬意与衷心的感谢。
