Introduction

本书是与吴传生主编的普通高等教育“十一五”国家级规划教材《经济数学——概率论与数理统计》（第二版）相配套的学习辅导教材，主要面向使用该教材的教师和学生，同时也可供报考经济管理类专业研究生的学生作复习之用。
近几年来，我国的高等教育已经完成了从精英教育向大众化教育的转变，教育界和社会各方面对高等教育的质量十分关注。为了适应这种变化的形势，我们编写此配套教材，一方面满足广大学生学习概率论与数理统计课程的需要，期望对保证和提高概率论与数理统计课程的教学质量，对广大学生掌握教学基本要求起到一种辅导作用；另一方面也是为了满足不同层次的学生的学习需要，利用辅导教材这一比较灵活的形式，对教材的内容作适当的扩展和延伸，对在大众化教育的形势下如何培养具有创新精神的优秀人才的问题作出有益的探讨。
本书的内容按章编写，基本与教材的章节同步。每章包括教学基本要求、典型方法与范例、习题选解、补充习题等四个部分，书后附补充习题参考答案。
教学基本要求部分主要是根据教育部数学基础课程教学指导委员会制定的经济管理类本科生概率论与数理统计课程的教学基本要求确定，同时也根据教学实际作了适当的修改。沿用惯例，按“理解”、“了解”或“掌握”、“会”的次序表示程度上的差异。
典型方法与范例部分是本书的重心所在，它是教师上习题课和学生自学的极好的材料。其特色是：对内容和方法进行归纳总结，力图把基本理论、基本方法、解题技巧、释疑解难、数学应用等多方面的教学要求，融于典型方法与范例之中。范例具有典型性、示范性，有助于读者举一反三；范例的选取注重数学与实际应用（尤其是经济应用）相结合，注重对教材的内容作适当的扩展和延伸，有些扩展内容用*号标明。范例中注重分析解题思路，揭示解题规律，引导读者思考问题，培养读者的理性思维能力以及分析问题和解决问题的能力。大多数例题加以分析和评注，以开拓思路。
习题选解部分选择教材中的部分习题给出习题解法提要，每章的总习题是为了学有余力的学生和准备考研的学生的需要而编写的，它们大多数是一些富有启发性的习题，书中给出了较详细的分析和解答。需要指出的是，我们希望读者认真学习课程的基本内容，先自行思考，自己解题，再与题解进行对照、比较，达到对问题的更深刻和更透彻的理解的目的。如果不动脑筋独立思考，不亲自动手做题，而是照抄，那是绝对无益的。
