《看人：让百年人才测评技术走向大众》：
第一章智商是硬伤
在一次关于人才评鉴的培训当中，我这样形容智商：
“智商是硬伤。”
当然这只是想打个有趣的比方。没想到这个说法大受欢迎，不久就成为所有受训学员谈论智商这个概念时的标准语言：“你知道智商是什么吗？智商是硬伤！”或是“我觉得你的智商是硬伤”。虽然这个说法从学术研究的角度来说相当不严谨，不过我认为“硬伤”这个概念的受欢迎程度还是反映了一个事实：人们认为智商真的很重要。
我在工作的过程中发现，相比于智商在人们心目中的地位，大多数人对智商这一概念的了解相当有限。比如，你知道智商为什么叫“商”吗？
因为它真的是两数相除得到的“商”——至少在开始的时候是这样的。
普通人，智商100
1912年，心理学家威廉·斯特恩（Willian Stern）写了一《看人：让百年人才测评技术走向大众》，提出了一种测量智力的方法：假如一个10岁的孩子，能做出通常13岁孩子才能做出来的测试题，那么这个孩子的智力水平可以用他的智力年龄和实际年龄的商来表示，也就是13/10=1.3。为了使用方便，再把这个数字乘上100以便去掉小数点儿，就变成了智商130。所以，在最早的时候，智商180的意思大概是说“这个孩子小学2年级（10岁）就会做高中1年级（18岁）的题了”。所以，智商180的孩子确实是个天才。
但是，这种测量方法的问题在于，它只能用在孩子身上。所以，现代的智商测量使用标准差法。具体来说就是，设定所有人的智商是一个以100为平均数、15为标准差的正态分布。如果你没学过统计学，或不记得“正态分布”是什么也没关系。基本上这个计算方法的意思是，智商100是完完全全的普通智商，正好在平均线上，大约70％的人智商在85～115这个区间内。而智商130比平均值高出2个标准差，差不多就是“你的智商打败了97％的其他人类”的意思了。你看，智商130已经相当高了哦。假如你所在的公司有100人，那么理论上只有不到3个人的智商可以达到130以上。所以，如果你在微博上看到一大堆同事或同学秀“我的智商133”“我的智商140”之类的，那么他们用的测验一定不准。当然，如果你在贝尔实验室工作或者在MIT（麻省理工学院）上大学则另当别论啦。
虽然现在的智商不是一个“商”了，不过“智商”这个词听起来酷酷的有没有？它有一种特别数学化、特别精确的感觉，所以大家也就接着管它叫智商。同时也产生了“情商”“逆商”“财商”等一些与“商”没什么关系的跟风新词。
每个人在日常生活中都或多或少地生出“我的智商真让人着急”或“你的智商真让人着急”的感慨。我们周围总有一些人就像《黑客帝国》中的崔尼迪（Trinity）一样，尼奥（Neo）问她“你会开飞机吗？”答：“还不会（电影中出现“下载中”的进度条）……现在会了。”对他们来说，学习新的东西就好像打开一《看人：让百年人才测评技术走向大众》，从脑袋里抽出一根电线插上，然后点击“下载”这么简单。比如寝室中的那些“学霸”，一个学期不上课，考试前一天把书翻一遍就能考满分。也有另一些人简直是完全相反：一项非常简单的工作，无论你如何细心教导、循循善诱、苦口婆心、威逼利诱，仍然宁死不屈、勇往直前地说出“不会”两个字。不怕神一样的对手，就怕猪一样的队友。这就是“智商是硬伤”的明显表现了。
