第一节 中成药学的概念
中成药学是研究与阐述中成药的处方用药原理、加工制作工艺、临床应用以及贮存、保管、销售等各方面专门知识的一门综合性学科。
中成药是以中药材为原料，在中医药理论指导下，为了预防及治疗疾病的需要，按规定的处方和制剂工艺将其加工制成一定剂型的中药制品，是经国家药品监督管理部门批准的商品化的一类中药制剂。因此，作为供临床应用的中成药，不但要具备相应的药名、用法用量、规格和特定的质量标准及检验方法，而且要有确切的疗效，明确的适用范围、应用禁忌与注意事项。
我国的中成药历史悠久，品种繁多，应用范围很广，其中不少具有悠久历史的名优品种，如六味地黄丸、牛黄清心丸、安宫牛黄丸、乌鸡白凤丸、六神丸、片仔癀、小活络丹等，早已为人民群众所熟知习用。由于中成药有验（效验）、便（方便）、廉（经济）等特点，因此，是防治疾病、保健强身不可或缺的药物，在国内外享有较高的声誉。
