Introduction

近年来3D打印技术被媒体持续热炒并引起社会广泛关注。其实3D打印并不是全新的技术，它源于20世纪80年代工具、模具制造领域的快速成型技术(Rapid Prototyping)，随着制造技术的进步，快速成型设备能做到小型化放在办公桌面上使用，其操作并不比传统的纸张打印机复杂多少，所以从通俗易懂及易于向社会推广的角度出发，美国人率先提出了“3D打印机”这一新商品名称并在短短几年间迅速传遍全球。

我国是制造业大国，3D打印技术有着巨大的市场需求和应用前景，但中国的国情和美国不同，中国还没有形成桌面型3D打印机的商业化应用模式，作者看到许多人是凭着热情和好奇在用3D打印机。应用3D打印的消费环境还没有建立起来，其中最重要的原因是3D打印机是一种智力型创作工具，需要用户具有一定的技术和设计素养。从普遍性来讲，中国民众包括众多沉浸在应试教育的中小学老师设计和技术素养远远比不上欧美民众，所以，要想普及3D打印并让非专业民众尝到技术设计与创作的乐趣，开展3D设计和3D打印的普及性培训是当务之急。为此笔者利用自身的经验和能力，在北京、广州等地尝试举办了多期面向非专业公众的3D打印体验和培训班，发现桌面型3D打印机在教育行业有很好的应用前景，在有关专业厂商支持下，决定编著一本能够帮助人们理解、操作3D打印的实用培训教材，其读者对象主要是中小学教师、职业院校教师和已经购买或将要购买3D打印机的普通市民。本书的写作目的和特点可以用三个“面向”来归纳。

(1) 面向日常生活，提倡兴趣驱动学习

国内的大部分科技竞赛和技能大赛陷入功利性怪圈，常常和升学条件和个人名利挂钩，它剥夺了许多孩子个性张扬和自由学习的权利。本书尽量做到把“好玩、有趣、实用”的元素引入生活与学习，并强调利用3D打印机解决身边的实际生活问题。

(2) 面向基础和职教领域师资的新技术培训

我国基础教育师资大部分来自师范院校，教师工程技术素养和动手能力不足，本书的许多案例可以帮助从事数学、物理、信息、艺术、劳动技术或通用技术等课程教师利用3D打印技术改良教育技术和升级教学内容。

职业教育在中国经济发展和产业转型中扮演着重要角色，但整个社会普遍都“崇拜学历、轻视技能”，在企业和公司，技能型人才职业上升空间有限，而设计素养和创新能力是提升职业地位的重要砝码。本书的许多案例可以作为职业院校学生进行产品创意设计训练的课题，并已在全国性师资培训中得到验证。

(3) 面向国际STEM课程项目推广

许多学校把课程分得过多、过细，导致学习负担重、知识综合应用能力弱，而以美英为首的西方教育体系正在实施STEM教育计划——即把科学(Science)、技术(Technology)、工程(Engineering)、数学(Maths)高度融合形成“一锅烩”的模块化课程，从美国总统、大学校长到工业领袖都寄希望于STEM计划能使本国理工教育和人力资源在21世纪继续保持全球领先的地位。本教材介绍的F1 in Schools和4×4 Racing是国际STEM课程项目，也是和3D打印密切相关的教育项目。

本教材将用于和国家有关部委合作开展全国性3D打印技术师资培训项目，也适用于各类学校的创新设计、劳动技术或通用技术课程的教学以及各类企事业单位的3D打印技术培训课程，主要内容安排如下：

第1~5章为3D打印技术综述，3D建模理论与技能，3D扫描测量原理及打印数据处理技术，打印机使用操作。

第6章为3D设计与打印课题，分中级(6.1~6.4)和高级(6.5~6.10)，主要为3D打印培训和学校的课程开发提供项目素材。

第7章为STEM课程开发项目，介绍F1 in Schools和4×4 Racing项目的教学内容与实施。

读者可以选择性地完成第6章的练习案例，体会一下3D打印的乐趣和魅力。由于本书的版面有限，有些案例内容写得不详细，将来作者会逐步把有关补充内容上传到微小网(www.vx.com)网站，书中涉及的3D打印数据文件和软硬件操作的PDF文档全部向购书读者开放并将持续更新，读者将能从微小网上下载模型、视频、照片、工程图文档等详细数据，便于尽快掌握3D打印知识和技能。
