Author Description

苏·汤普金斯（Sue Tompkins），英国目前最资深的占星学家和咨询师之一，曾任The Faculty of Astrological Studies学院院长，又于2000年创立伦敦占星学院（London School of Astrology）这所声誉卓著的专业学府，并经常在英国、法国、挪威、瑞典、澳大利亚等地举办占星研讨会和公开演讲。

Book Abstract

太阳与月亮的合相显然会强化它们坐落的星座、宫位和元素，而成为星图中的重要焦点。如同其他所有的合相一样，和新月形成的相位的确需要仔细检视。
太阳代表的是我们的未来，以及我们努力达成的目标，月亮代表的则是我们的过去，以及能够带来舒适感和满足感的事物。当这两颗星体形成合相时，一个人的需求和目标通常是一致的，也就是具有统一的焦点、方向和目的。我们可以说这个人将所有的鸡蛋都放在一个箩筐里面；而此合相落入的星座与宫位，则可以描绘出这个箩筐的模样。
新月人往往来自父母角色单一的家庭背景，甚至可能从小就寄宿在学校或孤儿院里，而其中的某个人或整个组织，同时扮演着母亲和父亲的角色。更常见的情况是父母的态度及人生目标很相似，他们总是以相似的方式回应孩子。这种现象的影响是孩子无法听到其他的权威的观点，所以长大之后也很难从别人那里寻求建言或是向别人学习。这类人渴望自己是最高权威，似乎无须借由别人的协助来界定自己的目标或身份。基于上述的理由，新月人很少会出现在占星师或治疗师的咨询室里。当新月人变成父母时，也不太愿意和另一半分享交流，而径自扮演起双亲的角色。
新月人是非常主观的，他们认同的是自己以及自己的完整性；他们不太容易认同别人，也不容易察觉别人的需求，因此这个相位与褊狭的心性有关。
由于此相位在星图中会呈现出阴阳两面的融合，所以这类人也可能有雌雄同体的倾向，或是对自己的性别感到困惑，特别是在年轻的时候。新月型的男孩童年时经常有许多女人环绕在周围，而且会被自己的女性倾向所困扰；女孩则会显现出阳性特质，或者家里有许多男性，而且同样会感到困扰。但是这类情况不一定是个问题，它之所以会造成困扰，显然是源于社会抱持的阴阳两极看法，更危险的是将它和男女的角色混淆在一起，要求每个人都必须臣服于特定的角色。
有这个合相的男性经常有一张满月似的脸孔，通常对母亲的认同会大于父亲。我认识的女人之中有这个合相的并不多，所以不太有资格说些什么，其中的一个可能性是她们比较认同父亲。
新月人通常十分敏感，相当重视需求上的施与受以及滋养的议题，但是由于他们的褊狭倾向，所以对别人的需求感受得很慢。这跟满月人永远能清晰地察觉别人的需求很不一样，后者对周围的人每一个微小的反应都很敏感。
