Old Fort Niagara

Choose a sunny day and visit Fort Niagara! ~

The Old Fortress of Niagara was built in 1726 and has a history of more than 300 years. Located at the mouth of the Old Niagara River, which controls access to the Great Lakes and westward into the hinterland, the strategic location is critical. The ancient fortress was used by the French to defend against Indian attacks. Later, the British took advantage of France to fight the Indians, and took 19 days to capture the fortress. It was not returned to the United States until the independence of the United States in 1796. It was occupied again in 1813 and returned to the United States in 1815 after the end of the War of Independence. If you are a history buff or like this type of attraction, you will find this a very good choice!

As soon as you enter the door, there is a small museum inside, which introduces the history of the fortress and can be visited.

The fortress outside can also be visited upstairs, you can see the conference hall, bedroom and various daily necessities at that time.

This building in the picture above is particularly interesting. There is a boat hanging upside down on the ceiling on the first floor. When you go to the second floor and the third floor, you can still see the bed they slept in. LOL

Go to the side by the lake, close to the window, and you can look out at the quiet lake.

If the time is right, you can also run into soldier drills, which is very handsome! After the performance, you can also take a group photo with them~

Walk around and found that there are also various small forts, and the red color is also very beautiful. However, I still hope for world peace and no more wars!

You can also walk up to the lookout for a panoramic view of the entire fortress. There is also a bird's door nest on the top beam, you can hear the sound of chirping~ It must be the birds calling for their mothers again~

If you are tired from walking, you can sit by the lake, let yourself go, take a deep breath, and meditate quietly while watching the sea and the sky.

Old Fort Niagara
