When I was in China, I often heard the saying "Southern noodles are in the north", because northerners only love pasta, while southerners prefer rice noodles. The early morning streets of many southern cities are haunted by the sound of snorting powder every day.
Ask them how important it is to them, and they'll probably just tell you that it's hard not to be a fan for a day. People who love rice noodles have to eat noodles three times a day, especially in the morning, they must start with a bowl of rice noodles. Drinking a hot soup can wake up the energy of the day.
After the successful reputation of the popular lo-mei brand Mrs. Duck Neck, the shopkeeper decided not to focus on lo-mei, but to provide customers with a variety of dishes to arouse people's feelings for domestic market snacks. After this one bowl of rice noodles with local specialties from all over the South opened in Rowland Heights last January!
Since the first store opened, it has been well-loved by everyone, and there is an endless stream of customers every day. One bowl of noodles opened a second store in Irvine in October of the same year. It didn't take long for San Gabriel's third new store to open in early '18! This time, Yami Foods and Drinks sent a group of three people to explore whether this new restaurant is as delicious as everyone said.
*Location & Parking: This one bowl of noodles in San Gabriel is located in the food court of Wanli Mall. Next door is the famous Chili King and Xiaoluzi porridge shop. If you can't find a parking space at the door, you can find a parking space in the Shunfa supermarket next door.

As soon as I entered the store, I found that even if it was not a restaurant, it was very lively. The store is not very big, it can accommodate about ten tables of guests, but the sun shines in the store and it looks very bright.
The interior decoration is very Chinese-style, with wooden tables, chairs, cabinets and antique china, allowing customers to feel the familiar market atmosphere of small domestic restaurants, and at the same time, there is a reassuring tranquility.
There are one or two terrace seats outside the restaurant. Usually, even the terrace will be full when there is a lot of traffic at noon. In fact, in the evening when the weather is good, sitting outside and blowing the breeze is also a kind of enjoyment.

The dining table and condiment bottles in white and wood give a clean and tidy feel. The simple but interesting design of red table paper on the table conveys the concept of pursuing healthy food to customers.
The menu is presented in the form of a menu, and most of the dishes are accompanied by pictures, which can be referenced by guests and at the same time reduce the difficulty of selection to a certain extent.

If you look at the menu carefully, you will find that their taste selection is really rich, covering the characteristics of Guizhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guilin, Guangdong and other places. Not only the spiciness is marked on the menu, but also whether the ingredients are added with crushed peanuts, which caters for customers who are allergic to peanuts.
The following is a brief introduction to some of the more distinctive rice noodles, so that you can find your favorite bowl of noodles after reading this article.
Main dish: For customers who are not sure which one to order for the first time, I recommend that you choose one of the three signature rice noodles according to your favorite spiciness. The taste will never disappoint you.
●Guizhou Huaxi Beef Noodles: Not spicy, the taste of sour soup, slightly numb

●Chongqing Pickled Beef Noodles: Hot and sour, medium spicy is suitable for most people's taste
●Peerless Double Pepper Beef Noodles: Strong and spicy, suitable for food lovers

In addition to these three signs, the clerk also introduced several more distinctive rice noodles
●Cantonese-style Dangjia/Original Soup Beef Noodles: It is popular with customers who have a light taste and love soup, because its characteristic is that the soup is rich and slightly spicy with a touch of pepper.
● A bowl of dry mixed noodles: It is very suitable for customers who don't like soup like fried chicken. After trying it, I also think that this rice noodles tastes very good.

●Beef Noodles in Tomato Thick Soup: Its tomato soup base is all boiled with fresh tomatoes, and its sweet and sour taste is very popular among customers. This dish is also recommended for customers with children.
*In addition to choosing different flavors of rice noodles, customers can also add the four treasures of rice noodles (including marinated eggs, sour beans, sauerkraut and fried eggs) to enhance the flavor of the rice noodles. Among them, the most recommended fried chicken is their homemade sauerkraut. Different from the salty and sour taste of most sauerkraut, the sauerkraut here is not too salty and has a slight sweetness, which is addictive whether it is served with noodles or eaten without a stutter.
*For those who love pasta, any of the rice noodles here can be replaced with noodles! I heard that their home made pasta is not inferior to other noodle restaurants.

On the reverse side of the menu are snacks and drinks. Although there are not many types of snacks on the One Bowl Noodle menu, such as salted crispy chicken, fried tofu, crystal ice powder and brown sugar glutinous rice cake, these are very classic and popular dishes in China, and you can also order Mrs. Duck Neck! Wouldn't it be nice to pair it with a delicious snack when you're making noodles?

After introducing the menu, let's start exploring the delicious food together!
Spicy Duck Chin Spicy Duck Jaws $26.99/Lb
Soon after placing the order, the clerk brought a plate of Mrs. Duck Neck's Spicy Duck Chin. This is the first time I have eaten duck chin, and at first I was a little worried that the duck chin would gnaw all the bones.

When I actually eat it, I feel unexpectedly a lot of meat, especially the duck tongue part is very chewy. Although you can see some chili peppers, the spiciness will not be very heavy, and it is a little sweet. Those who are not very fond of spicy food can also try it.
You can buy all kinds of duck neck lady's lo-mei in the Yiwan Noodle Shop.
I really want to fry tofu Fried Tofu $5.99

This fried tofu is one of the most popular snacks here, and the clerk strongly recommends that we try it. The tofu was fried until golden on the outside but not greasy. Although its outer skin is not crispy, it will seep juice when picked up with chopsticks. The tofu inside is very tender and smooth.

The home-made dipping sauce served alongside the fried tofu is the best part of this dish. The sauce itself is relatively thick, the taste is salty and fresh, fresh and sweet, and it matches the oily aroma of fried tofu perfectly.
As soon as I ate a few bites of snacks, the clerk brought the main food one after another, which made me have to praise the speed of the food here.
Guizhou Huaxi Beef Noodles Huaxi Beef Rice Noodles $9.89
Huaxi Beef Noodles is the least spicy among the three signature rice noodles. Speaking of this Huaxi rice noodle, it is definitely the TOP3 popular snack in Guizhou. In the local area, people can be seen eating Huaxi Rice Noodles in street shops in the morning, noon and evening. A bowl of delicious Huaxi Beef Noodles uses dozens of Chinese herbs and beef bones to boil into a fresh thick soup base, add coriander and sauerkraut, not spicy but slightly numb.

My first impression of the Huaxi Beef Noodles produced by One Bowl Noodles is that the beef is too generous. I can hardly see the noodles below! The thinly sliced beef is very tasty and soft, not chewy. Take a sip of the soup before eating the noodles, and you can drink a relatively strong sour soup flavor just after the entrance. The rice noodles are made of relatively fine round noodles, which are very smooth and not rotten after a long time of cooking.
Peerless Double Pepper Beef Noodles with Fried Egg Beef Rice Noodles with Green and Red Chili (Extra Fried Egg) $9.89
This bowl of noodles is the hottest dish in the store. In addition to the jalapeno embellished on it, two kinds of specially imported Sichuan peppers are added to make the spicy taste of the soup base very deep and appetizing. In addition to the braised beef, this soup is also filled with bean paste, which fully absorbs the deliciousness of the soup.

The spiciness of this beef noodle is nothing short of the popular Korean double turkey noodles. It is recommended to choose carefully for those who are not so confident in eating spicy food. If you are particularly fond of spicy food, you can challenge and try it!

Praise your name for the fried eggs in the Four Treasures. The temperature of the fried egg is very good, and the soft egg yolk inside is very tempting. It is quite satisfying to pick up an omelette and dip it in a bit of soup.
Chengdu old soup with beef offal and vegetables Bovine Offal Instant Spicy Steam Pot $16.99
If you are not in the mood to eat noodles today, you can also choose to order a Chengdu Lao Tang Mao Cai to let meat and vegetables fill your appetite.

Maocai is a traditional Sichuan snack similar to hot pot, which is cheaper and more convenient than hot pot. You can enjoy a variety of delicious dishes by ordering one meal.
The biggest feature of their maocai is the large quantity and variety. As soon as it was served, I was intimidated by a pot full of spiky ingredients. Like a hill, there are vegetables such as potatoes, bean paste, tofu, bean sprouts, fungus and bamboo shoots under the meat. Most of the vegetables are already cooked and they will not taste bland because they are vegetables.

The taste is mainly spicy, with a little numbness. Eat it while it's hot and serve it with rice. Because my tongue has just been baptized with double pepper beef powder, I feel that its spiciness is suppressed when I eat this maocai again.

*Although it is called beef offal Maocai, it is not very different from beef Maocai. It is still mainly beef and luncheon meat. I have counted beef intestines, blood tofu and beef louver.
A bowl of dry powder Sautéed Rice Noodle with Pork $9.89

As a mixed powder lover, a bowl of dry mixed powder did not disappoint me at all. After one bite, it was promoted to be my favorite among the staples this time.

The sauce of the noodles is sweet and spicy, with a strong peanut sauce fragrance, and a lot of peanuts and sour beans are added in it. Friends who like to eat hot dry noodles or noodles with sesame sauce will definitely fall in love with this bite. The store also kindly served half a marinated egg!
Tips for Mixing Noodles Experts: Mix well before serving, and eat quickly. Dry mixed noodles can easily become lumpy if left too long without soup. When mixing the powder, use the method of stirring to lift the powder from the bottom and cover it to the top. The powder on the top can be evenly coated with the sauce at the bottom of the bowl, so that it can also dissipate heat well while mixing the powder. point to enjoy the delicious.
Brown Sugar Ciba Brown Sugar Rice Cake $5.99

After eating the main course, it's time for dessert. The first to be served was the brown sugar chiba that looked like mini fritters. It was still steaming when it came to the table, and it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the aroma was overflowing. Covered with brown sugar juice and crushed peanuts is enough, if you add some soy flour, it will be even better.

Brown Sugar Ciba seems to be the most controversial of our tastes. I personally like the texture and the sweetness of the brown sugar just right, but my friends say that the crust is not crispy enough and the taste is not outstanding.

*This kind of glutinous rice cake has a tough taste, so be sure to eat it while it's hot, it may become a little hard when it's cold.
Crystal Jelly Szechuan Crystal Jelly $3.00
This is also a Sichuan dessert recommended by the clerk, saying that this dessert can cool you down when you are sizzling with hot noodles. As a fried chicken growing up in Guangzhou, the jelly in my impression should be black in color, like fairy grass and turtle paste, eaten with condensed milk and honey.

As soon as this dessert came up, I realized that it was really as crystal clear as the name suggests, and I could clearly see the brown sugar water below. The touch of the jelly on the tip of the spoon is soft but not elastic, and it will not break everything. Apart from the brown sugar water below, the jelly Shanghai is paired with rich toppings.

When eating, be sure to stir it so that the brown sugar water can be evenly coated with the jelly, and add a bit of nuts or dried cranberries, so that the taste will not be monotonous.
Overall the experience of visiting the store is very good. It is the first time that fried chicken can taste rice noodles from so many different places in one go, and each type of taste has its own characteristics. .
After experiencing the whole process of eating, I was deeply impressed by the in-store service. The clerk not only helped us make the table, but also took the initiative to come over to add water, and explained the dishes very clearly when introducing the dishes.
In addition to good taste and good service, their dishes are also very cost-effective. The bowl is big, the amount of rice noodles is sufficient, and the meat is not stingy. It is very suitable for working lunches and gatherings with friends. If two people come to the store for a light meal, order two bowls of noodles and a snack will only cost $15 per person.

Spicy Duck Jaws $26.99/Lb

Fried Tofu $5.99

Huaxi Beef Rice Noodles $9.89

Beef Rice Noodles with Green and Red Chili (Extra Fried Egg) $9.89

Bovine Offal Instant Spicy Steam Pot $16.99

Sautéed Rice Noodle with Pork $9.89

Brown Sugar Rice Cake $5.99

Szechuan Crystal Jelly $3.00
