If you've read the Bible, you should remember one of the miracles about Jesus sharing the "five loaves and two fish" to five thousand people, and today we are talking about the five loaves and two fishes at a restaurant in Rowland Heights Taiwanese snack shop.

The owner of the shop is a Taiwanese couple. Since its opening, he has always insisted on using the most authentic and homely Taiwanese snacks. Even if it is difficult to buy, he must purchase the most traditional raw materials. The chefs make snacks such as mochi and zongzi by hand.

The proprietress said that the establishment of this restaurant was not entirely for profit. In addition to providing authentic food, it also took into account the setting of affordable and affordable prices. Therefore, the price has hardly risen in the past few years, and the phrase "his family has a large quantity" It has long since become one of the neighborhood's well-known labels.

The opportunity to visit the store this time was because I found a coupon for five loaves and two fish in Yami some time ago, so I wanted to try the hot mochi shaved ice. As a result, I had a special relationship with the proprietress, which led to this super detailed review of the shop.

Environment

Although the store is not big and can only accommodate about 20 guests, the tables and chairs are neat and the tiles are spotless, and the overall environment gives a very clean and tidy feeling. I have been there several times and found that the waiters are all young and enthusiastic little brothers and sisters. They not only provide thoughtful service, but also bring vitality to the store.

Order

When ordering, the clerk introduced the restaurant's popular signature dishes to us for the reference of first-time customers!

Crispy Salted Chicken $4.75 : The store's signature snack, the chicken is chunky, tender and juicy, and guests can choose the level of spiciness.

3.00 : Crispy and delicious meat control to satisfy your desire to eat meat

Fried Tofu $3.99 : Be sure to eat it hot, crispy and juicy fried tofu dipped in a slightly sweet soy sauce paste

Hot Mochi $3.00 : If you can't eat the whole ice cream, you can order a hot mochi for dessert. Soft and glutinous hand-made mochi with Taiwanese peanut flour is irresistible.

Taiwanese Beef Noodles $8.50 : This may have the most generous beef noodles you've ever had.

Chicken Chop Rice $7.25 : Not only enough fried chicken chop, but also braised pork rice/noodles and two side dishes

Pork Ribs Rice $7.25 : No.1 in the store is also my favorite, the pork is tender and juicy, and it also comes with braised pork rice/noodles and side dishes.

Braised Pork Rice (Large $5.95/Small $2.95): Braised pork melts in your mouth, fat but not greasy, the soup mixes with rice and you can eat it up in a few seconds. You can choose the portion, which is a special bonus

Meatballs (ㄇㄚˋ ㄏㄨㄟˊ) are now added to the menu $3.65: authentic Taiwanese meatballs are added with authentic Taiwanese dried bamboo shoots, which come from the unique "smelly" The taste makes the guests who like dried bamboo shoots happy.

Fine Ice $5.70 : Traditional Taiwanese shaved ice, cooler than snow ice, with sugar water and condensed milk on top.

Snowflake Ice $7.85 : The ice is very fine and melts in your mouth.

Fried Tofu $3.99

The first to be served was the steaming fried tofu. Freshly fried, it is crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, and not greasy at all.

The fried tofu itself is not overly seasoned, so it is delicious to eat it with sweet soy sauce with minced garlic!

Crispy Salted Chicken $4.75

The salted crispy chicken is one of the most classic snacks in Taiwan. The authentic salted crispy chicken is served with a fried nine-story tower. Although the salted crispy chicken made here does not see the figure of the nine-story pagoda, the aroma of the nine-story pagoda can be clearly tasted at the entrance. This salted crispy chicken is full of weight, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It really deserves to be their signature.

Meatballs $3.65

This one wasn't on the menu before, it's a snack that's just been added to the new menu. You can really smell the strong dried bamboo shoots when it is served. The Q-bomb skin made of sweet potato flour wraps pork, shiitake mushrooms, dried bamboo shoots, and is served with a sweet and spicy sauce and mashed garlic and coriander. This meatball is like snail powder. People who like it will become addicted, and people who don't like it will hide away when they smell this smell.

Mow Pack $3.00

The fluffy lotus leaf cake is filled with a large, layered piece of pork belly, topped with homemade sauerkraut and coriander, with peanut powder and sugar underneath. Although this piece of controlled meat looks fat, the taste of the bite is no different from the lotus leaf cake outside. It is very soft and melts in the mouth.

The slightly sweet pickled cabbage is particularly greasy, and the combination of peanut candy and coriander has the characteristics of Taiwanese snacks. The little friend with a small appetite may be full after one sip.

*Five loaves and two fish buns are a bit sweeter than other ones. I personally like it very much, but those who don't like sweet should consider it.

Boiled Eggs $1.25

Braised eggs are Japanese-style soft-hearted eggs, and the egg yolks are cooked just right. A main dish plus a soft-hearted egg is the perfect meal.

After tasting the snacks, the main food was served one after another.

Pork Knuckle Rice $7.25

We ordered this pork foot rice for the purpose of beauty and beauty. The bowl that was brought up was stacked with three pieces of pig's feet and a spoonful of braised pork like a hill, with some greasy sauerkraut on the side. The pork trotters are very soft and delicious, fat but not greasy. Fried chicken prefers to eat pork feet that are firmer and more chewy, but her friends feel that the soft and rotten pig feet here are very suitable for her.

The set meals here will come with kelp sprouts and bean sprouts, which are essential to relieve tiredness in a meal full of hard vegetables.

Pork Ribs Rice $7.25

The moment the pork ribs rice was served, I understood what the boss said about the large quantity and affordable price. This is almost the amount that can be shared by two people! Those with a small appetite for braised pork noodle soup may be full after eating, and instantly feel that it is worth the price of the set meal.

Although it's called pork ribs, the fried pork ribs are actually six big chunks of super solid boneless pork chops. The pork chops are wrapped in sweet potato starch and fried crisp and dry. The meat chops are thick and juicy, and the aftertaste is slightly sweet.

*Not only can you choose mixed noodles and soup noodles, but you can refill the soup after you finish the soup!

*The downside is that there are fewer vegetables, just a little bit of raw cabbage on the bottom and side dishes next to it.

Shredded Chicken Noodles $6.50

Hot weather can make people lose their appetite, and things that are too greasy can be unappetizing. A refreshing and unburdened chicken shredded cold noodles is especially suitable for this hot summer.

Noodles are smooth and chewy, with bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, full of nutrition. The "shredded chicken" here is better to be called chicken nuggets. It is very large, although it is chicken breasts, it does not taste like firewood at all. In terms of seasoning, this cold noodle has a sweet and sour taste, and it is paired with a tablespoon of sesame sauce, which is rich in taste but very refreshing. The store also put minced garlic next to the plate. Those who don't like the taste of garlic can leave out the minced garlic.

*There are thin noodles and udon noodles to choose from. Here, we recommend choosing thin noodles for fried chicken, which not only looks good with shredded vegetables.

Taiwanese Beef Noodles $8.5

After seeing the super affordable pork chops, I saw the most generous beef noodles that beef has to offer. The warm smell of meat wafting from the bowl makes people appetite. The soup base is very earthy, homely taste.

There are five or six large pieces of braised beef with tendons in one serving. The meat is soft but not chewy, and the texture is clear but not jammed. Although the order is a bowl of noodles, it is actually full of meat.

*Although it is not written on the menu, when you order, you will still be asked if you prefer thick or thin noodles, which is very thoughtful.

It's dessert time!

Ice products: The ice products here are generally divided into two types: snowflake ice and shaved ice. You can choose 4 kinds of hand-made ingredients. The feature is that the ice products are very large.

Signature Mochi Ice $7.79

(choose an ingredient)

The recently launched new product, milk shaved ice and the signature snack hot mochi, collide with different sparks.

The fried chicken greedily chose two ingredients: big red beans and peanuts. It costs $0.5 to add an extra topping, but the amount is very generous and it's worth the money. The shaved ice tastes delicate and refreshing, and the ingredients are soft and glutinous. Those who don't like sweet can ask the clerk to add a little less sugar water.

*I will tell you a little secret quietly. The peanut flour served on the hot mochi is given by the proprietress to her relatives and friends every time they come from Taiwan. This explains why I was turned down when I asked if I could serve shaved ice with only mochi as an ingredient. Let's eat and cherish!

*After the shaved ice comes up, be sure to eat the hot mochi first, not only to experience the thrill of ice and fire, but also to prevent the mochi from being so soft and glutinous when it gets cold.

Milk Snowflake $7.79

(choose four toppings)

Snowflake ice has always been popular for its dense taste without ice residue. After a spoonful of it, the thin ice flakes fall like snowflakes, and the layers of snowflake ice melt in the mouth, leaving only the unsatisfactory milky fragrance. There is nothing that a meal of snowflakes can't solve.

You have to ask if the bowl of white flowers is full of ice, did you forget to add the toppings? Don't worry, don't worry, the ingredients are actually hidden under the snowflake ice!

*Favourite toppings for fried chicken TOP 3

1. Peanut (soft taste, perfect combination of peanut and milk ice)

2. Taro (four or five pieces of taro, the taste of the taro will not be bad, it is quite filling)

3. Immortal grass (sweet and slightly bitter, neutralizing the sweetness of snow ice, and also very clearing heat and eliminating heat)

Generally speaking, it is a Taiwanese restaurant with perfect value for money. It is a good choice for lunch or afternoon tea.
