Brewing Tips
Cold Brew
5g tea, 500ml water, place in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours, then it can be enjoyed.
Alternatively, you can put ice cubes in a cup, add 5g of tea leaves, let it sit until the ice cubes melt, and then it can be consumed.
Hot Brew
Water temperature: 95-100℃
Tea to water ratio: 5g tea leaves per 100 ml water
Steeping time: 10s/10s/20s/30s* (for the 1st/2nd/3th/4th infusion respectively)
*The tea amount and steeping time are for reference only and can be adjusted according to individual needs.
For the first few infusions, you can use boiling water to brew the tea, which will bring out the intense aroma. For the subsequent infusions, you can lower the water temperature to prolong the steeping duration of the tea leaves.
For the initial infusions, it's recommended to gently swirl the cup, allowing the tea leaves to unfurl and release their constituents. The tea can be enjoyed while hot, or you can let it cool down to around 60℃ for a different flavor experience. Alternating between these two methods of consumption can bring you a delightful variety of flavors.
After finishing a cup of tea, you can savor the lingering aroma at the bottom of the cup, take a short break, and then proceed to the next infusion. The pleasant echoes of the high mountain tea will continue to envelop you.
The amount of tea leaves and steeping time can be adjusted according to personal preference and are provided as general guidelines.
Origin & Process
Taiwan Lishan Oolong is grown in the high mountains of Lishan at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level, and thus recognized as an alpine tea area in Taiwan. Surrounded by mountains above 3,000 meters and centered by Deji Reservoir, the Lishan tea area is full of moisture and very suitable for growing tea leaves slowly with sufficient light and rain.
Our Lishan Oolong is selected from the spring tea of Lishan's green heart oolong tea varieties, which is rich in substance and considered as the "benchmark" of Taiwan' "high mountain teas". The tea is processed with the standard production method, lightly withered, stirred, fermented (10-12% fermentation), dried, and roasted. The buds are soft, thick, and elastic, providing a "clear floral aroma", "long-lasting sweetness and increasing mouth-watering", and "delicate and smooth".
