序言

无印良品为何能得到全世界的热爱——关于这个问题的答案，估计见仁见智，不尽相同吧。有人也许会说“因为设计得很简单”、“确保最低要求的功能就好”，也有人说“因为很环保啊”、“品质很好”，等等。这些答案都对，但任何一个答案都无法道尽无印良品备受推崇的理由。

在谈论无印良品的时候，针对个别产品及其设计来进行讨论的话，那也许就错了。无印良品的本质在于包含了所有那些设计、品质等的“思想”本身。堤清二先生与田中一光先生是极为少见的经营者与创意人的组合，他们想要在时代变迁中坚守的那些价值观和审美意识，则成为了一个核心思想，依据这样的思想诞生的产品集合体，我们可以将其称为“无印良品”。
