Author Description

安徒生，丹麦19世纪著名童话作家，世界文学童话创始人，生于丹麦菲英岛欧登塞的贫民区。他没有受过正规教育，一生主要靠稿费维持生活。安徒生因为其童话作品而闻名于世，其中著名的童话故事包括《冰雪女王》、《拇指姑娘》、《卖火柴的小女孩》、《丑小鸭》等。他的作品被翻译为150多种语言，成千上万册童话书在全球陆续发行出版。他的童话故事还激发了大量电影，舞台剧，芭蕾舞剧以及电影动画的创作。1875年8月4日病逝。

Book Abstract

海的女儿
大海的深处，生长着奇异的植物。顽皮的小鱼在海中游来游去，好像空中的飞鸟。最深的地方是海王的宫殿。海王有六个女儿，最小的女儿最美丽。跟其他人鱼公主一样，她的下半身是条鱼尾。
小美人鱼最喜欢听关于人类的故事，她常缠着老祖母讲给她听。老祖母说：“等你满十五岁，我就允许你浮到海面上。你可以坐在月光下的礁石上，看树林和城市，看巨大的轮船从身边驶过。”
小美人鱼的姐姐们都已经去过海面上了。她们回来后讲述了各自最难忘的经历，一切听起来是那样的美好。
“啊，我多么希望自己已经十五岁了！”小美人鱼说。等啊等，这一天终于来到了。小美人鱼满怀憧憬地向海面游去。
小美人鱼把头伸出海面，此时太阳刚好落山，天边的云霞射出淡红色的光芒。不远处停着一艘大船，闪着彩色的光，传出美妙的乐声。小美人鱼朝那儿游去，每当浪尖把她托起来时，就可以透过窗玻璃看到里面的情景。原来船里正在给王子庆祝十六岁的生日。英俊的王子站在船中央，他微笑的样子让小美人鱼难以忘怀。
突然，浪越掀越大，一团团乌云聚拢过来。音乐停了，彩灯熄了，可怕的风暴就要来了。
天空变得漆黑。这时，一道闪电划破夜空，把船劈成两截。小美人鱼朝着风暴中心游去，一心要赶到王子的身边救他，甚至忘记了自己的安危。小美人鱼用尽力气托起王子，直到天亮，才把王子送到沙滩上，然后她躲起来，要看看王子会怎样。这时，一个女孩儿从沙滩旁的白色屋子里走出来，唤醒了倒在沙滩上的王子。小美人鱼有点儿难过，因为王子不知道是自己救了他。
从海面回来，小美人鱼变得沉静而忧伤。她问老祖母：“人类会永远活下去吗？”老祖母说：“不，他们的生命比我们的要短得多。我们可以活三百岁，不过当我们的生命结束时，就会变成海上的泡沫。人类则有一个不灭的灵魂，即使身体化成了泥土，灵魂也活着，升向晴朗的天空，变成闪耀的星星。”“难道我没有办法得到一个不灭的灵魂吗？”小美人鱼问。“只有当一个人爱你，把他全部的思想和爱放在你身上，答应和你过一生时，他才能分给你一个人类的灵魂，但是你要把美丽的鱼尾变成人的那两条呆笨的腿。”老祖母说。
小美人鱼多希望变成和王子一样的人哪！为了得到王子的爱，她愿意牺牲一切。
一个黄昏，小美人鱼决定去找海巫婆。“美丽的公主，你想要什么我都知道。”海巫婆怪笑着说，“我煎一服药给你，你在天亮前游上海滩，把药喝掉，你的尾巴就能分成两半，变成世界上最漂亮的两条腿。可是以后你每走一步路，都会像走在刀尖上一样痛苦。如果你能忍受这种痛苦，我就帮你。”“我可以忍受。”小美人鱼毫不犹豫地回答。“另外，”海巫婆又说，“你一旦获得了人的形体，就再也不能变回人鱼。假如你得不到王子的爱情，那么你就会在他和别人结婚后的第一个早晨，变成海里的泡沫。还有，你必须用最好的东西和我交换！你的歌声是海底最美的，我要割下你的舌头。”小美人鱼颤抖了一下，答应了。
海巫婆把药递给小美人鱼后，割掉了她的舌头。小美人鱼再也不能说话了，她离开了海巫婆的屋子，回到父王的宫殿。她深情地望着王宫，然后浮出了深蓝色的大海。
小美人鱼到达海滩时，太阳还没有升起。她在海滩上喝下了海巫婆给的药水，立刻觉得仿佛有一把刀劈进她的身体，她在剧痛中晕了过去。
当小美人鱼醒来时，年轻英俊的王子正站在她的面前。她的鱼尾已经不见了，换上了一双美丽的腿。王子问：“你是谁？怎么到这儿来的？”小美人鱼不能说话，只能用眼睛温柔而悲哀地看着王子。王子牵着她的手，领她走向宫殿。正像海巫婆说的，她的每一步都像走在刀尖上。
小美人鱼成了宫里最美丽的姑娘，她跳的舞蹈迷住了所有的人。王子特别喜欢她，但王子从来没有娶她的意思。“在你心中，最爱我吗？”当王子与小美人鱼跳舞时，小美人鱼用眼睛询问。王子说：“你很像那个海滩上救我的女孩儿。她是这个世界上我唯一爱的人，可惜不知道在哪里可以找到她。”“是我救了你啊！”小美人鱼说不出话来，只好深深地叹了一口气。
不久，王子要去邻国访问，人们传说他要娶邻国国王的女儿为妻。
“我不会娶她的！我不爱她，我爱的是那个海滩上的女孩儿。如果让我选，我宁愿选你，因为你最像那个我爱的人！”王子对小美人鱼这么说。小美人鱼相信王子说的，他们一起上船，驶往邻近的王国。
一上岸，邻国国王为王子举办了盛大的宴会。王子惊喜地发现，邻国公主就是那个在海滩上救他的女孩儿。王子幸福极了，他们马上举行了盛大的婚礼。
婚礼结束后，新郎新娘起程回国。船在海上行驶，小美人鱼跳起了舞，她的舞步从来没有这么轻盈。虽然跳舞的时候好像有刀子在砍她细嫩的脚，但她并不感觉痛，因为她的心更痛。
王子挽着新娘走进华丽的帐篷，小美人鱼站在甲板上。她用手臂支着船舷，向东方凝望，等待晨曦的出现。这时，她看到她的姐姐们手牵手从波涛中浮出海面。她们的长发被剪掉了。
姐姐们说：“我们从海巫婆那儿用头发为你换来一把刀子，你把它插进王子的心窝，让他的鲜血流到你的脚上，你的脚就能重新变成鱼尾，你就可以回到海里。在太阳出来以前，不是他死，就是你死！”
说完，姐姐们把尖刀扔上甲板，便沉入浪涛里。
小美人鱼捡起刀子，掀开帐篷的帘子。美丽的新娘睡在王子的怀中，他们是那么幸福。小美人鱼在王子清秀的面庞上吻了一下。
朝霞渐渐变得明亮起来，就在这时，小美人鱼把刀子远远地向浪花里扔去。然后她从船上跳到海里，她的身躯慢慢化成了泡沫。
太阳升起来，阳光温暖地照耀着冰冷的泡沫。小美人鱼并没有死，她随着玫瑰色的云朵升入天空。她用无私的爱获得了一个不灭的灵魂，变成天空中最闪亮的星星。
