Author Description

杰洛德·布兰岱尔（Jerrold R.Brandell），美国密西根大学博士，韦恩州立大学教授、《精神治疗社会工作》季刊编辑，持续投入儿童、青少年和成人的私人临床诊治工作达23年之久，并针对“儿童与青少年治疗”、“自我心理学”、“移情作用与反移情作用”、“叙事案例研究”、“心理治疗过程分析”等专题发表许多论文。目前与妻子、三个孩子定居于密西根安娜堡，著有《儿童与青少年在心理治疗中的反移情作用》（Counter transference in Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents）、《叙事与治疗的活动》（Narration and Therapeutic Action：The Construction of Meaning in Psychoanalytic Social Work）。
林瑞堂，中国台湾地区台北县人。曾获中国台大文学新诗首奖，译有《你可以更靠近我》、《成功就是现在》、《我的感觉你懂吗》等书，就读中国台大外文研究所。

Book Abstract

西恩的案例西恩5岁大的时候亲生父母放弃了监护权，好让他能够被安置到寄养家庭。如果说这时西恩与父母，特别是与母亲的关系呈现恶性发展，这样的说法还低估了问题的严重性。尽管西恩完全失去控制时，会毁坏家具，故意在地毯和墙壁上撒尿，但是父母对西恩的仇恨却与他的恶行不相上下。他们迫不及待地要将他安置到寄养家庭，好让彼此都有生存的机会。或许并非偶然，西恩罹患了一种罕见的新生儿疾病，“幽门狭窄症” (pyloric stenosis)，也就是连接幽门与十二指肠的瓣膜畸形，让新生儿无法消化乳汁。这种疾病常见的病征相当戏剧化，也就是新生儿会出现喷射性的呕吐。在西恩这个案例中，由于专业的疏忽及母亲拒绝承认，整整6个星期都没有诊断出个案患有严重的病症；同时西恩的母亲也因哺乳的挫败感，而责怪自己无法扮演好母职，进一步衍生出深深的自我谴责。这样的感受当然会反映在往后的关系里。我们可以毫不过分地设想，他们早期的痛苦经验成为样版，让彼此都在潜意识中重复透过这个样版经验后来的所有事件。无论如何，西恩是个难缠的婴儿，他体弱多病、脾气暴躁，让父母很不快乐。现在西恩已经11岁了。
