坊間的玩具比較無法融入個人的喜好，也缺乏自己製作時的成就感，因此希望這本書能導引各位讀者一同加入動手做的行列。書中採用漸進式教學，由淺入深，在動手做的過程中，慢慢的培養思考與創作的能力。舉例來說，碰到問題時該如何解決、缺少的零件又該如何取得、要怎麼樣才能讓作品更加完善，這些不光只是侷限在做玩具這部分，對以後在創意思考和學習方面，動手做的能力都扮演著非常重要的角色。
