三层小楼，粉墙黛瓦，阅览室设在二层。靠楼梯的一面墙上，满满当当的，摆的全是书。朝南的窗户外面，植着七里香。人坐在室内看书，总有花香飘进来，深深浅浅，缠绵不绝。

这是当年我念大学时，学校的阅览室。对于像我那样痴迷读书，而又无钱买书的穷学生来说，这间免费开放的阅览室，无疑是上帝恩赐的一座宝藏。在那里，我如饥似渴，阅读了大量的中外文学书籍。也是在那里，我初次接触到《诗经》，立马被那些好听的“歌谣”迷上。野外总是天高地阔的，我一会儿化身为那只在河之洲的斑鸠，一会儿又变身为采葛的女子，岁月绵远，天地皆好。

其实那时，我心卑微。我来自贫困的乡下，无家世可炫耀，又不貌美，穿衣简朴，囊中时常羞涩。在一群光华灼灼的城里同学跟前，我觉得自己真是又渺小又丑陋。

读书却使我的内心，慢慢儿的，变得丰盈。那真是一段妙不可言的光阴，每日黄昏，一下了课，我匆匆跑回宿舍，胡乱塞点食物当晚饭，就直奔阅览室而去。看管阅览室的管理员，是个三十多岁的年轻人，个高，肤黑，表情严肃。他一见我跑去，就把我看的《诗经》取出来，交我手上，把我的借书卡拿去，插到书架上。这一连串的动作，跟上了发条似的，机械连贯，滴水不漏。我起初还对他说声谢谢的，但看他反应冷淡，后来，我连“谢谢”两字也免了，只管捧了书去读。

读着读着，我贪心了，我想把它据为己有。无钱购买，我就采取了最笨的也是最原始的办法——抄写。一本《诗经》连同它的解析，我一字不落地抄着，常常抄着抄着，就忘了时间。年轻的管理员站我身边许久，我也没发觉，直到他不耐烦地伸出两指，在桌上轻叩，“该走了，要关门了。”语调冷冷的。我始才吃一惊，抬头，阅览室的人已走光，夜已深。

我不好意思地笑笑，归还了书。窗外七里香的花香，蛇样游走，带着露水的清凉。我心情愉悦，摸黑蹦跳着下楼，才走两级楼梯，身后突然传来管理员的声音：“慢点走，楼梯口黑。”依旧是冷冷的语调，我却听出了温度。我站在黑地里，独自微笑很久。

那些日子，我就那样浸透在《诗经》里，忘了忧伤，忘了惆怅，忘了自卑，我蓬勃如水边的荇菜、野地里的卷耳和蔓草。也没想过自己到底为什么要迷恋，也没想过自己日后会走上写作的路，只是单纯地迷恋着，挚爱着，无关其他。

很快，我要毕业了。突然收到一份礼物，是一本《诗集传、楚辞章句》，岳麓书社出版的，单价七块六毛。厚厚的一本。扉页上写着：赠给丁小姐，一个爱读书的好姑娘。下面没有落款。

我不知道是谁寄的。我猜过是阅览室那个年轻的管理员。我再去借书，探询似的看他，他却无甚异常，仍是一副冰冰冷的样子，表情严肃。我又怀疑过经常坐我旁边读书的男生和女生，或许是他，或许是她。他们却埋首在书里面，无波，亦无浪。窗外的七里香，兀自幽幽的，吐着芬芳。

我最终没有相问。这份特殊的礼物，被我带回了故乡。后来，又随我进城，摆到了我的办公桌上。我结婚后，数次搬家，东迁西走，丢了很多东西，但它却一直都在。每当我的眼光抚过它时，我知道，这世界哪怕再叫人失望，也有一种叫美好的东西，在暗地里生长。
