Product Description
White Peony, the most popular white tea among tea drinkers, has both buds and leaves, so is not as "noble" as Silver Needle, but provides a much richer tasting experience and layering flavor when compared with other white tea with only leaves.
First-grade White Peony, freshly picked in 2022, has the whole shoot of one bud and one/two leaves or more buds and fewer leaves. It has a natural fresh floral fragrance and provides a floral and honey flavor.
As it is produced in the high-altitude production area of Panxi Town, Fuding City, the tea leaves grow slowly and accumulate high amino acids, resulting in a sweeter taste. The aging flavor after long-term storage is well worth waiting for.
Taste
A high floral fragrance with a tender aroma of pekoe; fragrant and sweet tea liquid, and prominent sweet aftertaste and obvious mouth-watering, perfect "high mountain flavor".
Brewing Tips
Cold Brew
5g tea, 500ml water, place in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours, then it can be enjoyed.
Alternatively, you can put ice cubes in a cup, add 5g of tea leaves, let it sit until the ice cubes melt, and then it can be consumed.
Hot Brew
The fresh and high-quality Bai Mudan tea doesn't require rinsing. Simply pour boiling water into the teacup to awaken the tea. Slowly pour water in a circular motion, ensuring that the tea leaves are evenly soaked, resulting in a better extraction of flavors. After the fourth infusion, you can extend the steeping time by 5-10 seconds for each subsequent infusion. With this method, you can enjoy over 10 infusions of tea.
Origin & Process
The White Peony is from Panxi Town in the west of Fuding City. Panxi is an alpine tea production area with an overall altitude of 600-1200 meters above sea level and a forest coverage rate of over 88%, where the original natural environment is well preserved and is known as the "lung of Fuding". Due to the mountainous climate, Panxi is surrounded by clouds and mists from morning till night, with abundant rainfall and sufficient warm sunlight, which is favorable to the formation of amino acids and aromatic substances in the tea leaves, bringing a distinctive "high mountain white tea" flavor to Panxi Dabai/Dahao tea varieties, and producing the high-quality "Aromatic White Peony".
The fresh White Peony is made by natural withering and drying, instead of rolling or roasting, to maximize the natural state of the tea leaves, facilitate subsequent storage, and bring a pleasantly "aged tea flavor".
