莱拉·J·特鲁特（艾奥瓦大学博士）曾在相当长的时期里担任圣安东尼奥得克萨斯大学经济与金融学院院长。她的丈夫戴尔·B·特鲁特曾被授予阿什贝尔·史密斯教授职称，这是他所在大学的最高级教学与研究职称。戴尔·特鲁特在奥斯汀得克萨斯大学获博士学位，他曾任佛罗里达国际大学经济系首任系主任和圣安东尼奥得克萨斯大学经济与金融学院首任院长。特鲁特夫妇具有丰富的企业咨询经验，《财富》500家和100家企业中有多家都是他们的咨询客户。
