Author Description

7.教授共情准确地共情不但是治疗师的重要特质，对病人来说也同样重要，我们必须帮助病人发展对他人的共情能力。记住，我们的病人通常来做治疗是因为他们欠缺成功地发展和维持令人满意的关系的能力。许多人不能够与他人的情感和经验共情。
我相信“此时此地”给治疗师提供了一个有力的途径帮助病人发展共情。所使用的策略十分直接：帮助病人对你共情，他们也会自动探索生命中其他的重要人物。在治疗中，经常会看到治疗师询问病人他们的某句话或者某个行为会如何影响他人。我只是建议治疗师用这个问题来问自己。
当病人猜测我会如何感受的时候，我通常会仔细处理这个行为。例如，一个病人试图解释我的某种姿态或者评论，并谈到“你一定已经受够了给我做治疗”，或者“我知道你一定很后悔和我接触”，或者“我这1小时的治疗一定是你今天最不愉快的1小时”。
