Introduction

庄曾渊教授主编的《庄曾渊实用中医眼科学》马上就由中国中医药出版社出版了，欣喜之余，受邀为之作序。
知道庄老师时间很长，真正和庄老师熟悉，时间不算长，只是于我受上级委派，兼任中国中医科学院眼科医院院长以后才交往多起来，加上医院里的同志们的诸多评价，庄老师在我心目中才逐渐完善丰满，并越来越高大起来。庄老师医术精湛、医德高尚、为人谦和，总是对自己要求苛刻，对别人宽容厚道，特别不愿意麻烦别人，对于别人给予自己的哪怕一点点方便和帮助总是念念不忘，是一个典型的忠厚长者。其学问人品，借孔老夫子的弟子们对于老师的评价“仰之弥高，钻之弥坚”，用在庄老师身上真是再合适不过了。
庄曾渊老师从上海中医药大学毕业后一直在中国中医科学院广安门医院工作，后来又参与筹建中国中医科学院眼科医院，并担任副院长。庄老师是第四、五批全国名老中医药专家学术经验继承指导老师，现任中国中西医结合学会眼科专业委员会名誉主任委员。《中国中医眼科杂志》主编，享受国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴。从医50年来，庄院长以对中医眼科事业的执着追求，高尚的医德和科学道德，广博的中西医学识，与人为善的仁爱之心，勤勉、严谨的工作作风受到了中西医眼科学界专家及学者的尊重。在多年的临床和科研工作中，庄老师注重吸纳现代研究成果，以发展的角度研究和总结中医药在防治眼病方面的新认识、新经验、新规律，建立了病证结合，以精、气血、津液辨证为主线的眼底病辨证方法，完善了原有的眼底病辨证体系，为推动中西医结合眼科发展发挥了重要的承前启后作用。
