露西·希格尔，英国在报道社会和环境正义方面议题首屈一指的记者。从2004年起，她每周在《观察家报》（Observer）撰写以道德生活为题的专栏。同时，她也为《泰晤士报》（The Times）、《嘉人》（Marie Claire）和Grazia等杂志撰写专题报道。为探讨发展中国家的劳工权益与工人处境，希格尔长期认真研究自己的衣橱，并观察时尚界泛滥的消费主张。她花了五年时间研究并推动以永续及公平合理的风格，来取代贪得无厌的廉价、快速时尚。希格尔在2005年发起《观察家报》道德奖，堪称“绿色环保界的奥斯卡奖”。2011年，她与英国奥斯卡影帝柯林·费斯的妻子莉米亚·费斯共同发起绿地毯计划（The Green Carpet Challenge），致力于将环保融入时尚，并成功号召梅里尔·斯特里普等知名影星在奥斯卡红地毯上穿着环保时尚服装。另外，希格尔也担任伦敦艺术大学的客座教授。
