Author Description

老舍（1899-1966），原名舒庆春，字舍予，北京人。1918年北京师范学校毕业后任小学校长和中学教员，后赴英国讲学，开始文学创作，以幽默风格引人关注。回国后任大学教授。抗战期间任中华全国文艺界抗敌协会常务理事和总务部主任。1946年赴美国讲学。新中国成立后回国，继续从事文学创作，曾任中国文联副主席、中国作家协会副主席等职，获“人民艺术家”的称号。文革中受到迫害，1966年8月24日深夜，含冤自沉于北京西北的太平湖畔，终年67岁。代表著作有：长篇小说《骆驼祥子》、《四世同堂》，中篇小说《月牙儿》，短篇小说《微神》《断魂枪》，剧本《龙须沟》、《茶馆》、《宝船》等。

“我说祥子，”二强子歪歪拧拧的想挺起胸脯，可是连立也立不稳：“我说祥子，你还算人吗？你占谁的便宜也罢，单占她的便宜？什么玩艺？” 祥子不肯欺负个醉鬼，可是心中的积郁使他没法管束住自己的怒气。他赶上一步去。四只红眼睛对了光，好像要在空气中激触，发出火花。祥子一把扯住二强子的肩，就像提拉着个孩子似的，掷出老远。良心的谴责，借着点酒，变成狂暴：二强子的醉本来多少有些假装。经这一摔，他醒过来一半。他想反攻，可是明知不是祥子的对手。就这么老老实实的出去，又十分的不是味儿。

老舍（1899—1966），原名舒庆春，字舍予，满族人，一八九九年生于北京一个贫民家庭。一九一八年北京师范学校毕业，先后任小学校长和中学教员，后赴英国讲学，并开始写小说。一九三年回国后任大学教授，直到一九三七年抗战爆发。在此期间创作多部小说及剧本、鼓词等。一九三八年，中华全国文艺界抗敌协会成立后，他被选为理事兼总务部主任，主持文协日常工作。一九四六年应邀赴美国讲学，期满后旅居美国从事创作。新中国成立后不久应召回国，曾任中国文联副主席、中国作家协会副主席等职。“文化大革命”开始后受到残酷迫害，因不堪凌辱投湖自尽。
老舍一生写下了数百万字的作品。主要著作有：长篇小说《骆驼祥子》、《老张的哲学》、《赵子曰》、《二马》、《牛天赐传》、《四世同堂》、《正红旗下》（未完），中篇小说《月牙儿》、《我这一辈子》，短篇小说《微神》、《断魂枪》，剧本《龙须沟》、《茶馆》等。他的作品大都取材于市民生活，为中国现代文学开拓了重要的题材领域，被称为“人民艺术家”。他所描写的自然风光、世态人情、习俗时尚，运用的群众口语，都呈现出浓郁的“京味”。优秀长篇小说《骆驼祥子》、《四世同堂》便是描写北京市民生活的代表作。他的作品已被译成二十余种文字出版，以独特的幽默风格和浓郁的民族色彩，以及从内容到形式的雅俗共赏而赢得了广大读者。

中篇小说《月牙儿》，无疑也是一部不可多得的杰作。如果说，《骆驼祥子》描写的是旧社会如何将良民变为恶棍，《月牙儿》则控诉了吃人的社会如何逼良为娼。《月牙儿》描写了旧社会母女两代妓女的悲惨命运，以无比深沉的笔触剖析了旧中国妇女沦落罹难的社会根源，借助她们破碎酸楚的心发出撼人心魄的呼喊，读来令人动容。
《断魂枪》是一篇短篇小说。小说把个人命运的小故事和时代变迁的历史大背景结合起来，在短小的篇幅里营造出了大格局。以它的气魄，无疑可以进入现代短篇小说的精品行列。《断魂枪》说的是镖师的故事：时势变迁，昔日神枪沙子龙的威名一落千丈，连以他为荣耀的徒弟们也不再理睬他。小说中没有写他半点愠怒，只写了他在夜静人稀时面对天上的群星一气刺出六十四枪的场面。只这个场面描写，便把他身处历史大变局时期的无奈和悲愤表现得淋漓尽致，写活了他在急剧变化的近代社会中的复杂心态。
