Book Abstract

这是因为辩论双方都不敢承认对方观点正确，以免对方运用它来反驳自己。所以在有效的ADI结束时，双方都可以直接把矛头指向不同的观点：“原来我们有分歧的地方是在这里。”由于大部分的观点通常都是一致的，所以我们可以用这些一致的观点作为基础，设法为不同的观点找出一条出路。无论如何，谈判的基础很雄厚。
对不同意见的领域进行隔离，意味着为了找到不同观点的共同基础还可以作更进一步的考察。无论结果如何，总比一味地反对敌对体系更容易取得进步。即使不一致的部分的基础是某种原则或者价值，也可以比较容易地设计出一种让双方都满意的结果。例如，如果双方一致的观点是无论如何最终都要进行改变，那么双方的分歧可能就是改变的速度、方法或者步骤了。
ADI可以由争论双方各自执行，或者也可以由双方坐在一起共同合作完成。最好的方法当然应该是由双方合作完成。不过，这要看双方的态度。如果双方是敌对的，最好由双方各自按照自己的意愿来执行ADI。如果一方不愿意进行ADI，也不会妨碍另一方进行，并且将结果拿给对方修改。
