作者介紹陳浩基

香港中文大學計算機科學系畢業。台灣推理作家協會海外成員。

二??八年，以童話推理作品〈傑克魔豆殺人事件〉入圍第六屆台灣推理作家協會徵文獎決選；翌年，續作〈藍鬍子的密室〉及犯罪推理作品〈窺伺藍色的藍〉同時入圍第七屆台灣推理作家協會徵文獎決選，並以〈藍鬍子的密室〉贏得首獎。之後再以推理小說《合理推論》獲得可米瑞智百萬電影小說獎第三名，以科幻短篇〈時間就是金錢〉獲得第十屆倪匡科幻獎三獎。

二?一一年，以《遺忘．刑警》榮獲第二屆「島田莊司推理小說獎」首獎，日本推理小說之神島田莊司稱讚他具備了無可限量的才華！

香港作家才寫得出來的魅力／【推理評論家】玉田誠

繼獲得第二屆島田莊司推理小說獎的《遺忘‧刑警》之後創作的這部本格推理作品，是採用連續短篇的形式。若以「擁有卓越的推理能力而成為傳說人物的關振鐸與駱小明這對搭檔，不斷破解疑難雜症的案件」來介紹這部作品的內容，可能會有不少讀者想起日本的警片連續劇《相棒》。然而，作者陳浩基在這部作品的架構上所耗費的心思，絕非如此單純。

首篇的〈黑與白之間的真實〉，是描寫在本作品中扮演偵探角色的關振鐸因癌症末期，陷入昏迷狀態，他的搭檔小明透過特殊機器與他對話，逐漸揭開了事件的真相。故事以變化莫測的情節再三玩弄讀者，最後拉下了悲哀的布幕。

使用在這篇故事裡的本格推理主題，又延續到下一篇〈囚徒道義〉，把故事拉回到過去。從〈囚徒道義〉到〈Borrowed Place〉，以極盡巧思的本格推理技巧，呈現出隨著回歸前後逐漸改變的香港模樣。誠如開頭引用的「香港警察誓詞」所示，在本作品中，香港警察該是什麼模樣的主題，如通奏低音（thoroughbass）般隨著香港的變遷不斷播放著。事件真相扯上香港警察的內幕，也是這部作品的一大亮點。這部作品因此具有不同於日本警察小說的風格，而不是仿造歐美或日本的推理小說，綻放著唯獨身為香港作家的作者才寫得出來的魅力。

如上所述，這部作品的各篇故事，都是延續前一篇的主題，從這樣的心思可以感受到作者的風格與架構之奧妙。以本格推理手法來說，敢大膽採用異於較為單純長篇小說的連續短篇結構、把故事高潮放在前面再倒述回去的意圖，以及隱藏在最後的〈Borrowed Time〉的詐騙巧思，都在在強烈地吸引著我。看完〈Borrowed Time〉最後揭露的手法與其真相，讀者會被拉回到〈黑與白之間的真實〉，對開頭的悲哀高潮中的另一個事實感到震撼。在此所表現的某人之死的意義究竟是什麼？我個人深深覺得，這個人物的半生是香港的隱喻。

從這本書所預見的香港的未來，究竟是希望還是悲哀──這個答案或許是要留給我們讀者自行判斷吧。
