北京协和医院骨科教授、博士生导师、中国康复协会副理事长、《中国矫形外科杂志》副总编。现兼任武警总医院骨科中心主任。脊柱外科首席专家，享受国家特殊津贴。星期一、四下午在协和医院骨科门诊，星期四上午在武警总医院门诊。
1965年毕业于北京医科大学，1982～1983年于加拿大渥太华大学医院进修脊柱外科，获渥太华大学骨科研究生证书。从事骨科医、教、研40多年，具有熟练处理骨科疑难病症能力，尤其在脊柱侧弯、驼背、脊柱滑脱、椎管狭窄、脊柱骨折、脊柱肿瘤等方面富有经验。脊柱侧弯研究获1989年卫生部二等奖、国家三等奖及2005年国家科技进步二等奖：“中华通用脊柱内固定装置(PRSS)研制及临床应用”获2004年中华医学科技进步奖二等奖及2007年度亚洲太平洋骨科协会大会奖：肌肉康复治疗仪，获1997年度北京市科技三等奖。主编《脊柱外科新手术》、《颈椎病》、《脊柱侧弯外科学》等五部专著，参加编写《骨科手术学》等八部图书，发表论文80余篇。

Book Abstract

交感神经型颈椎病以头痛、听觉、内脏感觉异常、出汗障碍等为突出表现，往往与神经根型、椎动脉型或脊髓型颈椎病混合并存，其理疗法基本同神经根型、椎动脉型颈椎病的治疗。
脊髓型颈椎病以下肢沉重、麻木、行走困难为主要表现，理疗的目的在于改善局部的血液循环，减轻充血、肿胀及脊髓的受压状况。理疗法安全、平稳，忌颈椎牵引、推拿及手法治疗。短波透热及干扰电疗等为合适的保守疗法，可参照神经根型、椎动脉型颈椎病的治疗进行。
颈椎的保护性围领可以减少颈椎的活动，缓解对脊髓的刺激、压迫，改善症状。
颈椎病的预防宜从青年时期开始，注意锻炼身体，增强体质，坚持做颈椎保健操，避免睡高枕，预防颈肌劳损的发生。一旦出现颈痛等不适，应及早诊治，以免颈椎的过早退变。
颈椎病是手法治疗的适应证之一，除脊髓型外，其他类型的颈椎病皆可做手法治疗，尤其是神经根型和颈型（单纯颈痛）颈椎病，手法治疗的疗效更好。
手法治疗是对骨关节的推动、牵拉、旋转等被动活动，是以骨关节活动的功能、解剖和生物力学特点为原理，针对疾患的病理改变，采取的手法操作技术。对颈椎病的治疗作用在于：改善椎间关节的活动功能。
