《巴金选集 2 春》是“激流三部曲”中的第二部，是巴金代表作之一。本书讲述了高淑英目睹腐朽的封建大家庭的各种黑暗，为了追求自由，冲破禁锢，在哥哥觉新、觉明、觉慧和好友琴、陈剑云等人的帮助和鼓励下，成功到达上海，开始了自由而革命的生活。

巴金（1904-2005），原名李尧棠，字芾甘，四川成都人，小说家、散文家、翻译家，被誉为中国的“一代文学巨匠”、“语言大师”。巴金早年受五四文学思潮洗礼，追求民主、平等，追求光明、正义，毕其终生从事文学创作。其作品大多以进步的知识青年为主人公，暴露旧制度、旧道德的罪恶，歌颂反抗和光明，艺术风格明朗、炽热、流畅。主要作品有“激流三部曲”（《家》《春》《秋》），“爱情三部曲”（《雾》《雨》《电》），以及《寒夜》《憩园》《随想录》等，其作品被翻译成近二十种文字在世界各地传播。

《巴金选集2 春》：
天气很好。蔚蓝色的浩大天空中只有淡淡的几片白云。阳光留恋地挂在墙头和檐上。天井里立着两株高大的桂树，中间有一个长方形的花坛，上面三株牡丹正在含苞待放。右边一棵珠兰树下有两个孩子俯在金鱼缸上面弄金鱼，一个女孩在旁边看。她的同胞兄弟觉英是十五岁的少年了，相貌也生得端正，可是不爱读书，一天就忙着同堂弟弟觉群、觉世一起养鸽子，弄金鱼，捉蟋蟀。另一个孩子就是四房里的觉群，今年有十岁了。她看见他们，不觉把眉尖微微一蹙，也不说什么话。觉群无意间抬起头，一眼看见了她，连忙往石阶上面跑，上了石阶便站在那里望着她笑。
觉英立刻惊讶地站直了身子。他掉过头来，看见是他的姐姐，便安静地笑着叫一声“二姐”。他手里还拿着一个捞鱼虫的小网。
“四弟，你少胡闹点，爹回来看见你不读书又要骂你的！”她温和地警告觉英说。
“不会的。”觉英很有把握地回答了一句，依旧转过头俯着身子弄金鱼。
女孩是四房的淑芬，今年也有九岁了。她转过身子笑着招呼她的堂姐：“二姐，你来看，金鱼真好看！”淑英含糊地答应一声，微微摇一下头，就从旁边一道角门走出去。这时觉群的同胞兄弟觉世，一个塌鼻头的八岁孩子，带跳带跑地从外面进来，几乎撞在她的身上。她惊恐地把身子一侧。觉世带笑地唤了一声“二姐”，不等她说什么，就跑下天井里去了。淑英厌烦地皱了皱眉头，也就默默地走出了角门。那边也有一个小天井，中间搭了一个紫藤花架，隔着天井便是厨房，两三个女佣正从那里出来。她顺着木壁走到她的堂妹淑华的窗下。她听见有人在房里说话，声音不高。这好像是她的琴表姐的声音。她刚刚迟疑地停了一下脚步，就听见淑华在房里唤道：“二姐，你快来。琴姐刚刚来了。”淑英惊喜地把头一仰，正看见琴的修眉大眼的鹅蛋脸贴在纸窗中间那块玻璃上，琴在对她微笑。她不觉快乐地唤了一声：“琴姐！”接着抱怨似地说了一句：j‘你好几天不到我们这儿来了。”“三表妹刚才向我抱怨过了。你又来说！”琴笑着回答道，“你不晓得，我天天都在想你们。妈这两天身体不大好。我又忙着预备学堂里的功课。现在好容易抽空赶到你们这儿来。你们还忍心抱怨我！”淑英正要答话，淑华却把脸贴在另一面玻璃上打岔地说：“快进来罢，你们两个隔着窗子讲话有什么意思？”“你不进来也好，我们还是到花园里去走走，”琴接口道，“你就在花园门口等我们。”“好。”淑英应了一声，微微点一下头，然后急急往外面走了。她走到通右边的那条过道的门口，停了一会儿，便看见琴和淑华两人转进过道往这面走来。她迎上前去招呼了琴，说了两三句话，然后同她们一道折回来，转了弯走进了花园。
她们进了月洞门，转过那座大的假山，穿过一个山洞，到了梅林。这里种的全是红梅，枝上只有明绿色的叶子。她们沿着一条小路走出梅林，到了湖滨。
她们走上曲折的石桥。这时太阳快落下去了。天空变成一片明亮的淡青色，上面还涂抹了几片红霞。这些映在缎子似的湖水里，在桥和亭子的倒影上添加了光彩的装饰。
她们在栏杆前面站住了，默默地看着两边的景色。在这短时间里外面世界的一切烦扰似乎都去远了。
她们的心在这一刻是自由的。
“琴姐，你今晚上不回去罢？”淑英忽然掉过头问琴。
“我想还是回去的好。”琴沉吟一下回答道。
“明天是星期，你又不上课，何必回去。我看二姐有话要跟你谈。”淑华接口说。
