（四）债券和股票
储蓄包括购买债券和股票。债券市场和股票市场是两种最重要的金融市场。
债券市场使大量借款人可以直接向公众借款。借款人出售债券，规定债券到期日和定期支付的利息数量等。债券的买者是贷款人。债券依债券的期限（到期时间）、债券的信贷风险（拖欠的可能性）和债券的税收待遇而不同。
债券期限越长，风险越大，通常要支付较高利息。债券的风险越高，支付的利息越高。在有些国家，各种债券的税收待遇会有区别。如，美国的市政债券（由州或地方政府发行的债券）、中国的国库券利息可享受免税待遇。通常情况下这些债券支付的税前利息较低。
发行股票是金融市场的另一重要融资途径。出售股票和债券分别称为股权筹资和债务筹资。股票的所有者分享企业的利润与亏损，而债券的所有者获得作为债权人的固定利息支付。股票持有人承担的风险大于债券持有人，因此其潜在收益通常高于债券。股票没有到期日或偿还日，但通常可以在证券交易所买卖。股票价格由供求决定，它是企业未来收益的现值。
（五）可贷资金市场
可贷资金的供给来自国民储蓄。高利率激励储蓄，从而增加可贷资金的供给量。可贷资金的需求来自希望借钱投资的家庭和企业。高利率增加借款的成本，从而会减少可贷资金需求量。可贷资金的供求结合形成了可贷资金市场，这个市场决定了均衡的实际利率和均衡的借贷量。由于可以贷出的资金是国民储蓄，借来的资金用于投资，所以，可贷资金市场也决定了均衡的储蓄与投资水平。
下列三种政策会增加储蓄、投资和资金积累，从而促进经济增长。
减少利息和红利的赋税提高储蓄收益，增加储蓄和贷款，使可贷资金的供给曲线向右移动，从而降低实际利率，增加投资。实际利率下降，投资和储蓄增加。
对投资实行减免税政策提高资本的投资收益，增加借款与投资，使可贷资金的需求曲线向右移动，从而提高实际利率，增加资金供给量。实际利率上升，储蓄和投资增加。
政府债务和赤字减少（或者预算盈余增加）增加国民储蓄（T-G），使可贷资金的供给向右移动，从而降低实际利率，增加可贷资金需求量。实际利率下降，储蓄和投资增加。
当政府支出等于税收收入时，政府预算乎衡。赤字增加减少国民储蓄，使可贷资金的供给向左移动，从而提高利率，减少用于投资的可贷资金需求量。当私人借款与投资由于政府借款而减少时，称政府挤出了投资。政府盈余的作用与预算赤字正好相反。
（六）均衡收入和产量
当对产品的总需求等于其产量时，该产量为均衡产量。
