第1章导论
1.4关于MATLAB和SIMULINK
本书始终贯串着MATLAB语言和SIMULINK的计算机程序，它们都可用来计算和仿真。书中没有使用这些仿真程序的指导说明，其超出了本书的范围。如果读者对这些程序有兴趣，可自行查阅指导书籍或在线求助。需要积累很多的经验才能熟练掌握这些程序。但是，这种精通是值得我们努力争取的，因为工程中的实际计算需要应用这些程序。
程序中还用到了MATLAB语言中的符号数学。符号数学非常有用，也值得掌握。例如，拉普拉斯变换、傅里叶变换和Z变换及它们的逆变换都能够利用符号数学计算。
本书很多例题中给出了MATLAB和SIMULINK的程序和仿真框图。有些例子还给出了结果。但是，这些结果的形式可能和程序显示的并不完全一致。
本书一般要求学生用MATLAB程序验证习题的结果。所需程序已经在相应例题中给出，通常不需重新编写新的程序。

第4版保留了《信号、系统和变换》前几版中的基本结构和体系。增加了一些新的例子，且修订了部分例子以便更好地说明书中的重要概念。为了易于阅读和进一步叙述清晰，我们修订了整个教材各个章节的措词。我们特别修订了卷积和离散傅里叶变换的研究内容。在相应的章节中还添加了信号与系统分析领域内精选出来的部分先驱们的传记。
修订了各章后的习题，并且增添了大量的新题目。部分新题目举例说明了数字通信、滤波和控制理论中的实际概念。还对章后习题进行了组织，以提供大量的类似习题。在附录H中至少为每一组类似习题提供一个答案。这样做的意图是使学生通过马上获得关于新资料和概念的知识和能力而建立信心。更新了所有的MATLAB例子以保证对Student Version Releas。14的兼容性。
本书丰要用作高年级工科学生的教科书和在职工程师的自学教材。本书假定读者已经掌握信号模型、系统模型和微分方程(例如在电路课程和数学课程中)的有关知识，并有一些在实验室处理实际系统的工作经验。
作者始终尽可能把信号和系统的模型与实际的信号和系统区分开。尽管只靠经验便可真正理解这种区别，但读者应该认识到真实系统和它们的模型之间在性能上通常有着很大的区别。
