Book Abstract

实践与创新
——河口海岸50年
一、不断发展河口海岸研究学科
1957年，在中国科学院的大力支持下，华东师范大学创立了我国第一个专门从事河口研究的机构——河口研究室，陈吉余出任研究室主任。1959年，在原河口研究室的基础上，成立中国科学院上海地质地理研究所。该研究所由华东师范大学与中国科学院上海分院双重领导，下设地貌研究室和地质研究室，李春芬兼任所长，陈吉余和竹淑贞任副所长，并分别兼任地貌和地质研究室主任。1962年，根据中央关于“调整、巩固、充实、提高”的八字方针，撤销中国科学院上海地质地理研究所的建制，改为华东师范大学河口海岸研究室，该室被列为高教部直属18个重点研究所（室）之一。1978年，经高教部批准，河口海岸研究室扩建为华东师范大学河口海岸研究所，并成立河口、海岸、沉积、遥感4个研究室，由陈吉余教授任所长，竹淑贞教授任副所长。2005年，河口海岸研究所发展成为“河口海岸科学研究院”，丁平兴教授兼任院长，陈吉余院士为名誉院长。
单位建制在变，但研究的区域，一直是立足河口海岸。河口海岸处于地球四大圈层——岩石圈、水圈、大气圈和生物圈——相互作用的典型区域，自然条件复杂，又是人口高度集聚、人类开发强度很高的地区。我国拥有长江、黄河、珠江三大世界级的典型河口和丰富多样的海岸类型。

2007年足我院——我国第一个河口海岸专门研究机构（河口研究室）建立50周年。为纪念我院成立50周年，从2007年9月17日开始，进行了为期一个月的学术研讨等系列活动，其中包括承办“国际IMBER/LOICZ陆架边缘开放科学会议——全球、区域变化和人文活动对生物地球化学循环和生态系统的影响，承办“中国海洋湖沼学会第九次全国会员代表大会暨学术研讨会”，举办“河口海岸科学研究院50周年庆典大会”，举办“陈吉余院士河口海岸研究60周年学术思想研讨会”等等。为更好总结我院50年历程，我们印发了《实践与创新——河口海岸50年》一书，献给为河口海岸科学事业做出贡献的人们！读者翻阅着该书，为我院50年来取得的成绩而自豪、为河口海岸几代人深入一线、艰苦创业、不断刨新、追求卓越的精神而震撼，还有为书中散发出感恩的情怀而感动，……但更多的是遗憾，该书未能由出版社正式出版发行。接管，不少人纷纷建议我们将该书正式出版，以对过去的历史负责，也对后来人负责。于是，我们在完全保留《实践与刨新——河口海岸50年》一书原貌的基础上，增加了我们50周年庆典纪实、嘉宾和领导们对我们50年取得成绩的祝贺，未来发展的期望等部分，结集正式出版。
