Content Description

《白轮船》是本讲述吉尔吉斯林区中一个小孩子命运的书。
一个正要进入小学读书的孩子，一个伴随着爷爷讲“长角鹿妈妈”传说长大的孩子，一个喜欢爬上山眺望远方湖泊中白轮船的小孩。他有三个梦想，第一就是上学！书中的故事正是由为实现上学愿望，爷爷为他买书包开始的，而这却冥冥中决定了他踏上悲剧命运的不归路。他的第二个梦想是与挽救了吉尔吉斯民族，而又不得不离开故土的“长角鹿妈妈”联系在一起的，他梦想着长角鹿妈妈的归来，梦想着与长角鹿妈妈快乐地生活。他还有第三个梦想，他从未和人说起的梦想，他遥远的白轮船，白轮船上有他的父亲。（他的父亲是名水手，但从不回来，他的母亲改嫁，也从不回来，他与爷爷靠林区临时工的微薄工资相依为命。）他梦想着有一天变成一条鱼儿，沿着小河，一直到湖里，去到白轮船边，变回自己的模样，去看看自己的父亲，也让父亲看看自己。

Author Description

钦吉斯·艾特玛托夫，1928-2008，吉尔吉斯斯坦作家。多次获前苏联国家文学奖、列宁奖，所有作品都拍成影视剧并获国家奖，并改编成歌剧芭蕾舞剧。《白轮船》电影获国家奖，受路遥、余杰、张承志、冯德英推崇并受其创作影响。
1928年12月12日生于吉尔吉斯塔拉斯山区舍克尔村。1937年苏联“肃反”时，任州委书记的父亲冤遭镇压。未成年便在村里当苏维埃秘书、区收税员、拖拉机站计工员。1953年吉尔吉斯农学院毕业后，在吉尔吉斯畜牧研究所工作3年。1952年起开始发表短篇小说。1956年被选送到苏联作家协会高尔基文学院进修 1958 年发表的《查密莉雅》描写一位农妇不顾旧观念和旧习俗，敢于追求自己的爱情和精神生活，手法新颖，受到一致好评，它与后来的《我们包着红头巾的小白杨》（4部中篇小说结集1961～1963）一起获1963年列宁奖金。1966年发表中篇小说《别了，古利萨雷！》描绘出吉尔吉斯民族现代生活的图景，揭示了现代社会的矛盾和冲突，获1968年度苏联国家文艺奖。70年代以来的作品有中篇小说《白轮船》、《早来的鹤》、《花狗崖》和长篇小说《一日长于百年》（获1983年苏联国家奖金）、《断头台》等。他的创作富于吉尔吉斯民族特色，内容丰富深刻，文笔优美，已被译成50多种文字出版，在国内外拥有广泛读者。1976～1991年任苏联作家协会理事会书记处书记、常务书记等。

《白轮船》：
“这么说，要到热列萨伊去罗？”谢大赫玛脱吃惊地说，“翻过山到那里有五公里路，不会少的。”
“爷爷说，用马送我。”
“每天来回送？老头儿真是异想天开！他自己上学倒正当其时，可以和你同坐一桌，上完课一起回来！”谢大赫玛脱笑得前俯后仰，他想象着莫蒙爷爷和外孙同坐一张课桌的情景，觉得非常可笑。
小孩困窘地沉默着。
“我这是开开玩笑！”谢大赫玛脱解释道。
谢大赫玛脱轻轻地弹了一下小孩的鼻子，把爷爷给他戴的制帽帽檐拉到他眼睛上。莫蒙自己一向不戴林业部门发的制帽，怕难为情（“我算什么？又不是什么首长。我决不拿自己的吉尔吉斯便帽去换别的帽子”）。就连夏天莫蒙头上戴的也是古老的厚毡帽，过了时的阿克——卡尔巴克——白色的高筒帽，帽沿镶着已经褪色的黑缎纹布边。冬天，他戴着古老的羊皮杰别基。至于林业工人的绿制帽，他老早就给外孙戴了。
小孩很不高兴谢大赫玛脱这样嘲笑他带来的新闻。他皱着眉把帽檐重又推到前额上。当谢大赫玛脱想再次弹他的鼻子时，他扭转头去，发起脾气来：
“别胡闹！”
“哎呀，生这么大气！”谢大赫玛脱冷笑一声。“别见怪，你的书包再好也没有了。”他轻轻拍了拍小孩的肩，“现在滚吧，我还要干活呢！”
谢大赫玛脱向手掌上吐了一口唾沫，又拿起镰刀挥动起来。
小孩跑回家去，又沿着那条小路，又跑过那些石块。他暂时还没时间跟石头一起玩。书包是件新鲜的宝贝。
小孩喜欢自言自语。但这一次他不是对自己，而是对书包讲话了：“你别相信谢大赫玛脱，我的爷爷不是那样的。爷爷太老实了，因此别人总是嘲笑他。正是因为他太老实呀。他要带着我和你到学校去。你还不知道，学校在《哪儿吗？不那么远。我指给你看，喏，我们从卡拉乌尔山上用望远镜可以看到它。我还要指给你看我的白轮船。不过，我们先得到板棚里去一下。我的望远镜藏在那儿。我本来应该看管牛犊，可我每次总是跑去看白轮船啦。我们的牛犊已经长大了——它一跑，你就拖也拖不住它。可它还照样要吸母牛的奶。母牛是它妈妈，当然不会舍不得给它奶喝的。你懂吗？妈妈任何时候也不吝啬任何东西的。古利江玛这么说的，她有个小女儿……很快就要挤牛奶了，挤好后我们还得把牛犊赶去放牧。那时候，我们就可以爬到卡拉乌尔山上去，从山上可以望见白轮船。

Introduction

初读《白轮船》，应该是在1974年夏天，那时候我还不满20岁，正在驻内蒙古昭乌达盟巴林右旗的部队服役。时值珍宝岛战斗之后，与前苏联的关系处于紧张时期。我所在的连队正为师部修建营房，每天10多小时的苦累，加之精神的无所依托，使我身心双显疲惫。恰此时，团政治处孙干事，从别人那里得知了我的情况，把我的几本读书笔记借去读了，欣喜地约我长谈了几次。几十年后，我仍然清楚地记得那个夏夜，暗黑的天空飘着若有若无的细雨，我俩沿着师部旁边的公路，来来回回反复地走，边走边谈，当然主要是孙干事谈我听。应该说，在当时，孙干事确算个知识渊博的人，他读的书很多，也发表过不少文章。他给我谈人生，谈读书，也谈正确处理人际关系的学问，使我有振聋发聩之感。那次谈话对我的人生之路的影响是明显的，那之后，他把从师部朋友那里借来的很多苏联小说给我看，其中便有《白轮船》。初读《白轮船》，我看到的是并非概念化的阶级变异，是权力的异化，是活生生的阶级压迫和剥削，心中的悲愤情绪可想而知。
再读《白轮船》，已经是在十年后的1985年了。那时，国家已经发生了沦桑巨变，思想解放已成为潮流。大量外国文学的出版，满足了人们久已饥渴的心灵，外国文学出版社出版的一套“二十世纪外国文学丛书”便深受读者青睐。那年夏天，我逛书店的时候，一眼发现了《艾特玛托夫小说选》，其中正有给我留下深刻印象的《白轮船》，我急不可待地买下来（后来还买过他的长篇小说《一日长于百年》）。
这时的文学界，正是“伤痕和改革小说都已退潮”，“寻根文学”正盛，而对人性的关注和张扬已是暗流涌动的时候，这时候读《白轮船》，自然又有另一番感悟。
那个无名的孩子无疑是人性纯善的一极，他刚开始上学，还不谙世事，还不知道人间有那么多的邪恶，他的心灵纯洁如白纸。他热爱莫蒙爷爷，莫蒙爷爷讲给他听的长角鹿妈妈的故事深深地印在他的脑海深处。尽管他看到了姨父——阿洛斯古尔所干的罪恶，也恨他，还在梦中借助别人来惩治他，但实际上，他是毫无办法的。时间长了，他觉得阿洛斯古尔这种人本就是那样。
