《人文读与收藏·良友文学丛书：打火机》是一部短篇小说集，1936年上海良友图书印刷公司出版。收《打火机》《普利安先生》《伟特博士的来历》《重逢》《不景气的插话》《白沙枇杷》《香港的一夜》《幸运儿》《圣处女的出路》《恳亲会》等短篇小说10篇。这些小说大多以上海为背景，也有以香港和日本为背景的。有的描写上海职场里的人物和故事的，如《打火机》写公司小职员的内心无聊与生计的艰难，《普利安先生》刻画一个在上海生活了30多年的意大利人普利安贫穷且身份尴尬生活，《伟特博士的来历》写一对老同事老朋友的荒唐创业却意外成功，最终却为女人而反目最终公司倒闭的戏剧化故事，《不景气的插话》写的是一家编辑社的茶房阿福在整个公司生意不景气的情况下失业自杀的悲剧故事。有的则主要写女性命运的沦落的，如《“白沙枇杷”》写的是一名咖啡厅的交际女因为受了欺骗而愈发沦落的故事，《重逢》通过甲乙两个人的谈话，写了一个纯洁的姑娘“小夜子”的遭际，《圣处女的出路》则写了一位从小生活在修道院的女子梅英的命运与出路。等等，这些小说体现了郑伯奇作为创造社作家的创作倾向，但有着文笔朴实,格调本色的独特风格。

Author Description

郑伯奇（1895-1979），原名隆谨，笔名何大白。陕西西安人。中国现代著名作家，创造社元老，1920年开始发表作品，1955年加入中国作家协会。著有作品集《郑伯奇文集》，小说剧本集《抗争》、《轨道》、《哈尔滨的暗影》，短篇小说集《打火机》等。

Book Abstract

五点还缺十分钟，华洋贸易公司各部人员已经各自作归家的准备了。
专画广告图案的陈冰也伸了一伸懒腰，豫备到大光明去看玛琳黛德丽的新片；忽然看见今天下午交下来一幅广告画还有三分之一没有完成，便又弯下身子，拿起米达尺，重新工作起来了。
他自出学校门，一年多工夫就没有找到职业。经过几番介绍，才得到如今这个位置。事情虽跟自己的性情不大合式，可是做事的日子不久，主任还看得起他，他得卖点气力才是。
（影戏迟看一场有什么关系？今天要是将这张画赶出来，明天早上一上工，马上交做主任看，他一定相信我是卖气力的，将来也许会多加一点工钱哩。）
想到这里，自己也觉得有点幼稚，不禁地摇了摇头，可是运用尺子的手却比以前更起劲了。
广告画画好了，他将身子靠在椅背上，将那张画高高地举起来，着实地鉴赏了一下，他才开始收拾自己的东西。
这时候，写字间里一个人都没有了。偌大一座仁和大厦静得是鸦雀无声。看看表已经快要六点钟了。他想，已经迟了，索性再等一会儿，在包饭作里吃了晚饭，到北四川路去兜兜圈子，再慢慢地回到闸北的家里去罢。
他走到隔壁的会客室里去。他装了一杯沙滤水，倒在沙发里，悠然自得地，像品茶一样地品着。他觉得这杯冷水颇有甘露一般的滋味。
忽然，他觉得腰骨傍边碰着一块硬硼硼的东西。摸摸自己荷包，只有一盒美丽牌香烟，已经压扁了。他便抽出了一支烟、装进口里，刚立起来要找洋火，只听得澎地一声，一件什么小东西跌落在地板上。一看，原来是一个小巧的打火机。
他不去拿洋火，顺便将这打火机检起，柏嗒一响，马上冒出带着蓝色的火焰来。他燃了那枝香烟，重又倒在沙发上，鼻孔中放出了两股青烟。
一面吸着烟，他一面摩擦这打火机。这是新式的，德国制造，外边镶着黑白两色的鲸骨，看光景，大约不会便宜罢。他又打出一缕火来。他觉得这扑突扑突一跳一跳的火焰怪有趣的。
（这是谁的呢？客人的？还是公司那一个的呢？怎么小王那家伙没有检去呢？）
在自己心里提出了这大串问题之后，他关上了那打火机，顺手装进了自己的荷包。
（不管是谁的，让我先给他拣起来。有人间，明天就还他；没有人问的这候，老爷就借用几天再说。）
想定了主意，他回头再看看，一个人也没有。他便带了帽子，关上了事务所的门，大踏步向电梯那边走去。
吃了晚饭，在北四川路跑了一个圈子，他觉得兴致还没有尽。看看邮政局的大钟刚刚是八点钟。一个人这样早回去有什么意思？在屋子里看书，闷气不过，还有给房东太太拉去凑脚儿的危险？也许她们的五百掺已经开始了，那更要吵得人头痛。还是到那儿去玩玩罢。忽然，他想去他的同学麦春华女士。
她和他是他在青鸟美术学会同学的。她是广东人。她有南国女子特有的那种活泼大方的神情。她就住在老靶子路那边。去找找她看，也许她肯陪自己去看玛琳黛德丽呢。
麦女士正在晚妆。看见他进来，只略略点了点头。他在一张椅子上，取了一支香烟拿了那打火机，澎地一声打出火来，点上那支香烟。
麦女士头也不回地说：
“米斯脱陈，你倒阔起来了，弄了一支打火机。”
“你看看，图样很不坏。黑白线条，德国式的。”
他递给她看。她一手拿着木梳，一手接过了这打火机。
“顶刮刮好。米斯脱陈有了事体，阔起来了呀。”
他听见她这样夸奖，很得意。他便约她到大光明去看影戏。
她洗了手，披上了披肩，他们俩一块儿去了。
到大光明，还不到九点钟，前面六角的一段已经人很多了。他们只在侧面找得了两个位子。
（跟玛琳黛德丽一般的女子一块儿看玛琳黛德丽的戏，真有味儿。）他得意起来了，又拿出那打火机，澎地一声，点上一枝香烟。
他悠悠然吸着烟，迥转身子向四面看看：他觉得那些男男女女都没有自己伟大幸福。
他悠悠然向天花板吐一了口烟。
进货科的一个同事叫周致平的，却坐在前排，回头朝着自己微笑。
