Content Description

《薄伽丘论爱情》由薄伽丘的两部作品《爱情十三问》和《爱的摧残》组成。
《爱情十三问》原名《辨异书》（IlLibrodiDifinizioni），是意大利文艺复兴时期著名作家薄伽丘在一三四○年用意大利语写成的作品。几个贵族青年乘船出海，被风暴吹到一座古城，羁留数日，偶遇该城的几名贵族男女，便应邀参加了他们的饮宴和消遣。众人选出美丽的王族女子菲娅美达做女王（相当于我国古人行酒令时的令官），然后轮流提出有关爱情的疑难问题，请她作答。在与众人辩论中，菲娅美达对这些问题做了精辟的议论，提出了自己的见解。
《爱的摧残》又名《菲洛斯特拉托》（Filostrato），是薄伽丘用意大利佛罗伦萨方言写的长篇叙事诗，完成于1340年秋冬之际。据作者的解释，“Filostrato”意为“被爱情击倒的人”。长诗内容取材于古希腊神话中特洛伊罗斯与克瑞西达的故事：特洛伊战争中，特洛伊王子特洛伊罗斯（Troilus）爱上了祭司卡尔卡斯的女儿克瑞西达（Cressida），两人秘密幽会，并发誓忠实于爱情。为交换被俘的特洛伊将领，克瑞西达被迫回到投奔了希腊人的父亲卡尔卡斯身边。她很快爱上了希腊贵族青年狄俄墨得斯。特洛伊罗斯得知后万分悲伤，绝望地上阵作战，被阿喀琉斯杀死，特洛伊城也很快陷落了。

Author Description

乔万尼·薄伽丘（1313—1375），意大利文艺复兴时期的杰出作家，人文主义的重要代表。薄伽丘与但丁、彼特拉克并称“早期文艺复兴”三杰，他的作品开辟了意大利散文和小说写作的新道路，并对欧洲短篇小说的发展产生了重要影响，他也因此被誉为“欧洲短篇小说之父”。《十日谈》是薄伽丘最广为人知的作品，《爱情十三问》与《爱的摧残》则是他早期作品中的代表。

“为了将你的问题解释得更清楚，为了让你透彻地领会我们答案的真意，我们不妨暂且离开我们议论的话题，对爱做一番尽可能简明的解说：

“爱可分为三种，其对象各有不同，有的借助于某种美德，有的则借助于其他的力量，取决于被爱的事物和施爱者的不同。第一种叫做诚心之爱，每个人都应当获得这种善意、正直、忠诚的爱。上帝将这诚爱赐予他创造的一切生灵，用这诚爱使众生与他相连。依靠这诚爱，天堂、人世、国家、省卅f和城市都正常运行，各享安宁。依靠这诚爱，我们有幸永久拥有天界的王国。没有这诚爱，我们拥有的一切幸福便会丧失殆尽。

“第二种叫做为快乐而爱，而我们正是这位爱神的子民。他是我们的神，我们崇拜他，信任他，向他祈祷。他会成为我们的知己，会满足我们的心愿。你的问题恰与这位爱神有关，因此我们理当给你解答。
