余小余老觉得自己就是一条鱼，一条随时想偷懒却偷不着懒的鱼。而且人家也总叫她余余，因为把余小余这个名字念快一点，就简化成了余余，听到人家余余余余地叫，余小余就感觉人家叫的是鱼鱼！鱼鱼！鱼鱼！慢慢地，余小余想象自己是一条灵活无比的鱼，玩的时候游得飞快，懒的时候就停在水里发呆，哭的时候呢，眼泪反正在水里，也没人看得见。也是，余小余觉得自己根本都是不懂得哭的，就算心里想哭，眼泪也流不出来。
有趣的是，余小余的好友韦映月可是个超级泪包，她在某待遇很好的事业单位工作，平日里闲得发慌，于是有事没事就如林黛玉一般，拿条手绢不停地擦眼泪。韦映月当然有理由哭天抹泪，因为她离婚了，而且最近的这段新感情也跌宕起伏，不得安宁。
韦映月个子不高，不过一米五八，近四十的人了．身形还很好，娇小玲珑，有一种紧实的美感。一米六六的余小余站在她旁边，总觉得自己简直是高大威猛。余小余和韦映月是两类完全不同的人，却成了朋友。那是因为，韦映月是个很纯粹的女人，任何事都可以不理．唯有爱情至上。在如今这个社会，这种琼瑶版的女人有点盲目，余小余老笑称她为“感情专业户”，刚认识时还觉得她挺搞笑的，不会上网不爱逛街，成天就围绕着爱情生生死死的，和好朋友煲电话粥或是腻在一起时的话题也绝大部分是所谓的爱情感觉。余小余在这方面相当自我，她一想起网上把琼瑶称为“穷摇”就想笑，再严肃的爱情理论都没了深情款款的感觉，变成好玩的了。所以余小余懒得和她谈这些很不实际的虚无东西。好在韦映月聪明而且悟性高，不功利不势利，对朋友忠心耿耿，这让余小余这种憨宝很有安全感。而韦映月也觉得余小余那点傻乎乎的古道热肠和口无遮拦以至于随时腹背受敌的个性，让她很担心她冲锋陷阵时的自我保护能力，总有种心疼和照顾她的冲动。
今天上午余小余要去谈公事。“我不是鱼，我是余小余。”出发前余小余照例提醒自己。香港方的中国地区行政总监邓生是个六十几岁的老先生，见到他，余小余心里很怜悯地感叹，哎哟哟，七八年前见他还神采奕奕的，现在老得皮打褶，头顶都稀疏了。一大把年纪了还要全国各地飞来飞去没个安稳地儿，人生真是折腾啊。寒暄坐定不久，刘业雄来了。余小余很烦遇到像刘业雄这样的政府官员，水平不怎么样，还自以为是得很，办事的出发点永远只为自己的方便和利益。余小余已有心理准备，刘业雄今天肯定是帮着邓生来处理科技中心这件事的。邓生说话办事有一种有模有样的港派作风，他微笑着说：“今天呢，把你们中心的负责人请来，是因为我们得到刘局长的同意收回中心，他非常支持，所以细节上请你们配合，我们需要了解情况，才能作出更正确的决定。”余小余点头，表态说需要了解情况我们会尽力提供。邓生接着话锋一转，措辞尖锐些，脸上却仍微笑着说：“中心要不要关停，我们现在还不能说，要分析一下现有条件再决定，但是，你们业务能不能开展要向我们请示，你看，去年还在经营，也不请示，这样就不令人满意了吧。”余小余一听就明白了，刘业雄这帮官员根本没有考虑下面员工团体的权益，而对财雄势大的大老板趋炎附势，把中心顺手给扔了。刘业雄附和着说：“邓生说得对，当初的业务让你们暂停你们也不听，这个责任谁负啊？”一听这话余小余就很火，反驳道：“我们一天没收到正式文件通知，一天就要开展业务，不然，单位怎么运作，这帮员工怎么生存？如果停办，得按照法律来处理，全是你们的员工，还得找你们负责！”一想到单位职工们辛辛苦苦好不容易把中心办出点效益来，就有人跳出来搞搞震，不仅说三道四，还全然没把职工们的利益放在考虑的因素里，好像他们全是不在局子里的棋子，而是棋盘上拿去冲锋后被收拾吃掉的子儿。刘业雄也不知说什么好，只是说：“也不能这样讲，我们是不管了的。我下午还有工作，我先走了，你们按邓生的要求来办吧。”心不在焉的刘业雄无心斗嘴，手里拿着下午局里组织的全市大会筹备稿，摸了摸自己的秃顶，急匆匆地走了。接下来的谈话余小余始终很配合，在强势的有钱佬集团面前，一个小小的中心太弱小了。随他们吧，爱怎么处理怎么处理，只要保障了职工的权益，正常业务坚持办下去，其他的余小余懒得再过分操心了。再说操心也未必就能扭转些什么，有时就是命运弄人，说不定有得有失呢。
