做任何事情，“上帝”最要紧。我们一般都把自己的服务对象定义为上帝，因为上帝是我们的衣食父母，是他们给我们吃、给我们穿、给我们生存下去的资源和条件。像我们这种小店，我自己想想，上帝有三种，也就是说有三种人我们要依赖于他，央求于他，他的一举一动都关乎到我们的利益，他的态度也决定了我们的成败。一种是我们的员工，有人说，你有没有搞错啊，他们是你的属下，他们为你做事，他们靠你吃饭，没有你，他们也许还在双屿的路上游荡，还傻坐在工业区的废墟里。我说，错了，我是靠他们的，我虽然开了店，但事情要靠他们去做，我不可能自己包办一切，我开店关店是自己，送东西是自己，开车是自己，跑厂家是自己，应付一切事情是自己，那我早就累死了，早就开追悼会了。我前面说过，我只是比他们早想到了生意，早一点创造了一个平台，我的过去、现在、将来都还是要他们来参与的，一起来完成的。说句不好听的话，资本家如果没有工人，他就不是个资本家，只是个守财奴；反过来说，是工人帮助了他的原始积累，才成就了这个资本家。弄懂了这个道理之后，我们和员工才能够和谐的相处，共同的发展。从这点上看，我们对这个上帝的服务，还是合格的，当然这也和我们自己的出身有关，我们都不是天生的资本家。
第二种上帝我想想还是给那些管理我们的人。按理说，我们不能这样说管理人员，管理人员也是很辛苦的，他们维护着我们的生意秩序，实际上他们也是服务者。但是，服务者如果不把自己放在平等的平台上，觉得自己给我们发了照，提供了市场，维持了秩序，没有他，我们只能喝西北风，没有他，我们就会无路可走，他如果这样想，他的姿态就不一样了，他就会装爷，就会管孙子一样管我们。
别看我们这个店小，但被管的地方还是挺多的。你领证了，工商就可以管你。你产生利润了，税务就可以管你。你进入了市场，管委会就可以管你。在外面就更不用说了。超载了，交警可以管你。运胶水，运管处可以管你。在工场生产，安监部门可以管你。有没有暂住证，治安派出所可以管你。这些都是我们最初没有想到的。我在文联机关，虽然没有管别人的业务，但听的多的，都是其他部门管理别人，管理无所不在，管理津津乐道。我老婆也没有经历过管理，她原先在工厂，最多也只是管管财务。我们要是知道开店会招来那么多的管理，有这么多管理的项目，我们要费心费神地去应付这些，我们才不要开店呢，我们少吃轻走，照样可以活。但现在，我们已经骑虎难下了，我们只能积极地去迎接这些管理，这也是我们生意之中的一项内容。
开店总会有出错的地方，总会不可避免地被人家管理。开始的时候，我们没有经验，管理一来，我们就紧张得要死。管理吓唬我们、要罚我们的款、叫我们停业整顿，我们就慌了，好像马上被关门一样。我们就到处托人，到处疏通关系。有一次我们的工场里电线乱拉，生产垃圾没有清理，员工在搭起的阁楼里睡觉，我们不是现代化企业，我们都是这样的。员工也适应这样的，你叫员工住在高楼大厦里，他们接受吗。当然，这种情况非常糟，说不定漏电，说不定起火，如果有人睡在里面，说不定就被烧死了。我们被查住了，我们知道，我们的过错不轻，可能过不了关，罚款在所难免，说不定就要关停。情急之下，我逢友便问，某某街道有熟人吗？治安那里有熟人吗？安全生产监督有熟人吗？都不知托了多少人，都不知谁托得重谁托得轻。后来员工说，好像没有人来过问啊，好像没有什么动静了啊。后来有六个人打电话跟我说，你上次那个被查的事怎么样了？他们没找你麻烦吧？我跟他们说了，你们也不容易，叫他们放你们一马。你给他点意思意思，他们会开只眼闭只眼的。都是说自己帮了忙的。呜呼，我不知道应该谢谁好，不表示吧，下次找人就不灵了，表示吧，确实有点摸不着头脑，没办法，我只得给每个“表功”的人都送了礼，这样心里才平安一点。我跟老婆开玩笑说，我们是“生缸把缸也生破了”，嘎嘎。生缸就是补缸，本来只是有一点点裂，结果越补越裂，越终把它补破了。
在接下的日子里，我们就吸取了教训，如碰到了这种情况，我们先估估它的后果，估计会罚到什么程度，再找个适当的关系疏通疏通。这就是我前面说的，有些关系，要像园丁浇花一样惦记着，你经常的拿水浇一浇，人家才会舒服。鞋票一张多少钱，超市卡一张多少钱，哪个大，哪个小，小钱不去，大钱不来，小钱去了，人家就会在关键的时候给你报信，会在要紧的地方为你点拨。这就像生病看医生一样，小病千万不能熬着。
当然也有一些大事，就没有那么简单了，不是一张鞋票一张超市卡能够打发的。但经验告诉我们，越是问题严重，越不用担心，因为问题越严重，也就越有人提示。他知道你焦急，知道你想力保，那些管理就会启发你，引导你，这样的时候，我们可以先定一下心，不用那么慌张，把意图带回来，再分析，再有的放矢。比如有一天，我们的运输车被扣了，我们是在运胶水的时候被查住的，胶水属于“危险品”，所以，要求我们一定要有专用车辆，而我们没有。胶水有很多种，有些是桶装的，有些是天然的，有些则是合成和配制的，但管理不管你是什么胶水，只要你是用普通车偷运，一般都是从严查办的。说来也是，胶水里含苯，苯会破坏人的免疫系统和造血功能，胶水等于是毒药和杀人。我老婆被叫去做了笔录，我的感觉就好像坐了牢监一样，我就她管理的神色和语气，问她给我们上什么措施，问他们有没有什么示意？老婆有点狐疑，说没有啊，态度和蔼可亲，叫我们三天以后再去。我神经质地一拍大腿，高兴地说，这就是给我们指路了。
