作者去年在台湾讲学期间，着意对本书加以修订，为了保持原作面貌，呈现修订叠加效果，本次修订不同于传统学术著作的修订版，而呈现为复合文本，这通过修订稿在边栏排印，有助于追踪作者的修订思路和材料、观点——“三联讲坛”最初设计的版式，也预含这种特殊功能和效果的修订体例。

Author Description

洪子诚，广东揭阳人，1939年4月出生。1961年毕业于北京大学中文系并留校任教，从事中国当代文学、中国新诗的教学、研究工作，1993年起任中文系教授。主要著述有：《当代中国文学概观》（与入合著）、《当代中国文学的艺术问题》、《作家姿态与自我意识》、《中国当代新诗史》（与人合著）、《中国当代文学概说》、《1956：百花时代》、《中国当代文学史》、《问题与方法——中国当代文学史研究讲稿》、《文学与历史叙述》等。

《问题与方法：中国当代文学史研究讲稿（增订本）》：
对于现当代文学来说，中国的古典文学自然也是一种参照物。但是，在20世纪较多时间里，它没有成为像西方文学那样的非常重要的参照物。不过，诗好像是例外。中国古典诗歌对新诗构成的巨大压力，是显而易见的。30年代梁宗岱先生说过，大致意思是，中国辉煌的古典诗歌既可以是新诗的灯塔，也可以是新诗的礁石。大家可以看看郑敏先生发表在《文学评论》1993年第3期上的文章（《世纪末的回顾：汉语语言变革与中国新诗创作》），她从中国古典诗歌跟中国新诗之间的关系，特别从语言变革的方面，来质疑中国新诗道路，质疑现代白话作为诗的媒介。她的主要观点是，中国新诗因为用白话作为媒介，否定、舍弃了古典语言和古典文学传统，结果是现代汉诗至今未能出现“世界级”的诗人。她的这个看法，在国外汉学界中，也有相似的主张。如哈佛大学的著名学者宇文所安（也就是欧文，我们更熟悉欧文这个名字），还有澳大利亚国立大学的威廉·兼乐，他们都批评本世纪的汉语没有写出伟大的诗，没有可以传世的诗篇。郑敏先生是著名诗人，她90年代的诗还是写得很好。她又是研究美国文学的，对现代西方文论也很熟悉。她的意见，得到大家的重视。有赞同的，也有不同意，同她商榷的。咱们系的老师臧力——他可能觉得“力”有“暴力”倾向的嫌疑，改成“棣”了——有一篇文章，叫《现代性和新诗的评价》，虽然没有直接提郑敏的文章，实际上是对她这篇文章和类似看法的回应。文章开头提问题的方式就可以看到这种针对性：“为什么我们总能在对新诗进行总体评价的时候感觉到古典诗歌及其审美传统的徘徊的阴影？或者说，用范式意义上的古典诗歌来衡量新诗，其学理依据在哪里？
