《匆匆》
燕子去了，有再来的时候；杨柳枯了，有再青的时候；桃花谢了，有再开的时候。但是，聪明的，你告诉我，我们的日子为什么一去不复返呢？——是有人偷了他们罢：那是谁？又藏在何处呢？是他们自己逃走了罢：现在又到了哪里呢？
我不知道他们给了我多少日子；但我的手确乎是渐渐空虚了。在默默里算着，八千多日子已经从我手中溜去；像针尖上一滴水滴在大海里，我的日子滴在时间的流里，没有声音，也没有影子。我不禁头涔涔而泪潸潸了。
去的尽管去了，来的尽管来着；去来的中间，又怎样地匆匆呢？早上我起来的时候，小屋里射进两三方斜斜的太阳。太阳他有脚啊，轻轻悄悄地挪移了；我也茫茫然跟着旋转。于是——洗手的时候，日子从水盆里过去；吃饭的时候，日子从饭碗里过去；默默时，便从凝然的双眼前过去。我觉察他去的匆匆了，伸出手遮挽时，他又从遮挽着的手边过去，天黑时，我躺在床上，他便伶伶俐俐地从我身上跨过，从我脚边飞去了。等我睁开眼和太阳再见，这算又溜走了一日。我掩着面叹息。但是新来的日子的影儿又开始在叹息里闪过了。
在逃去如飞的日子里，在千门万户的世界里的我能做些什么呢？只有徘徊罢了，只有匆匆罢了；在八千多日的匆匆里，除徘徊外，又剩些什么呢？过去的日子如轻烟，被微风吹散了，如薄雾，被初阳蒸融了；我留着些什么痕迹呢？我何曾留着像游丝样的痕迹呢？我赤裸裸来到这世界，转眼间也将赤裸裸的回去罢？但不能平的，为什么偏要白白走这一遭啊？

Introduction

朱自清是中国散文家、诗人、学者。他原名自华，号实秋，一八九八年生于江苏省东海县，一九四八年死于贫病交迫之中。他原籍浙江绍兴，一九三年全家迁扬州城，青少年时期是在扬州度过的，自认为与扬州的关系，够得上“生于斯，死于斯，歌哭于斯”，故自称“扬州人”。
一九一六年，朱自清由扬州两淮中学（后改名为江苏省立第八中学）毕业，考入北京大学预科，次年又考入该校哲学系。他为了自勉，不随同流俗，改名自清，又借用《韩非子》中“性缓，故佩弦以自急”的典故，改字佩弦。大学期间他参加过“五四运动”，是“文学研究会”早期成员，还参与发起新文学史上第一个诗歌团体中国新诗社，并开始创作新诗。
一九二年朱自清从北大哲学系毕业后，在江浙一带多所中学任教，并撰写散文和诗歌。朱自清、周作人、俞平伯等八人的诗集《雪朝》即在此期间出版，同时期他还创作了《桨声灯影里的秦淮河》、《温州的踪迹》等名篇。一九二五年经俞平伯推荐，朱自清开始服务于清华大学，历任中文系教授、系主任，期间他曾于一九三一年去英国留学，并漫游欧陆数国。他到清华后，开始致力于散文创作，发表了散文集《背影》、《欧游杂记》、《你我》、《旅行杂记》等。抗战爆发后，朱自清随清华大学先到长沙，后迁入昆明，并任西南联大中文系主任，讲授文学批评等课。此后，他开始从事学术研究和杂文写作。抗战胜利后，朱自清随学校一同迁回北平，仍为中文系主任。作为学者，他在诗歌理论、古典文学、新文学史和语文教育诸方面研究上都有实绩。论著有《新诗杂话》、《诗言志辨》等。抗战后，朱自清一直参与爱国民主运动，在身患重病时，仍签名于《抗议美国扶日政策并拒绝领取美援面粉宣言》，被誉为有骨气的爱国文人。
朱自清的文学创作成就主要集中在散文和诗歌方面。他是以诗人的身份步入文坛的，但却以散文成就最为突出，他的散文被誉为“白话美术文的模范”。而他的散文之所以在文学史上能占有一席之地，主要得益于两个方面。
第一：真。朱自清的散文题材多是生活琐事，但少有空发议论的文字。他追求“写景状物，如在目前”，如《荷塘月色》，他用洗练的笔触，描绘出清幽如画的荷塘夜景；《温州的踪迹·绿》，他用贴切的动词来描绘静态的景物，使文章生动而鲜活；《桨声灯影里的秦淮河》，他以白描的手法，描绘出夜色中波光和灯光辉映、游船穿行的秦淮河。这些细腻、生动的描写让人如身临其境。他写事记人以真切的内容、诚挚的感情感染读者，如《给亡妇》，他以对生活细节的描写，字里行间浸透着对亡妻的深情和怀念；《背影》一文，他所写不过是平常之事，但他选取真实的片断娓娓道来，写出了不知多少人的心声；《一封信》，他通过对家乡景物逼真的描摹，将自己在动乱时代对家乡对亲人的绵绵思念之情寄寓其中。朱自清后期的议论文字也是他真情实感的自然流露，如《执政府大屠杀记》，他形象而真实地表现了自己的正义感，同时也表现了自己作为知识分子略显软弱的一面；《论自己》、《论青年》、《论气节》等文中，他毫不矫揉造作地将自己的观点有现实针对性地一一道来，给青年以启迪。朱自清把自己的欢笑和眼泪、困惑和思索、热爱和憎恨全部倾注在自己的作品里，因此读者可以很强烈地感受到他的至情至性，可以真切地体会到他的喜怒哀乐，可以和他产生情感上的共鸣。
第二：美。朱自清的散文语言有其独特的风格，通俗易懂，明白如话，读起来又有着清秀之气，如朱德熙所说“于平淡之中见神奇”。如《春》，文章全篇只六百多字，没有浓词艳语，多是短句，常用比喻、拟人手法，却将春之色彩，春之灵动，春之生机，悉数道尽，描绘出一幅充满希望的绚丽的春景图。当然任何语言都是特定时代的产物，作家的语言同样也离不开时代，同样会有时代的烙印。二十世纪二十年代新文学作家的语言是刚从文言文蜕变而来的白话文，总会带有文言文的痕迹，风格上偏重于书面而不够平易。朱自清早期的散文也难免会如此。正如叶圣陶先生在为《中国现代作家丛书——朱自清》作《序》时所评价的“只有早期的几篇，如《桨声灯影里的秦淮河》、《温州的踪迹》，不免有点着意为文，并非不好，略嫌文胜于质。”随着白话文的发展、成熟，进入三十年代后，朱自清的散文也更加平淡质朴，全是用自然流畅的口语写出，《欧游杂记》、《伦敦杂记》二书最能体现他的这种文风。如《罗马》所写景物，参阅了旅游指南，但他以自己的语言娓娓而谈，自然，缜密，口语化，就像在听他亲切地讲述一样。而他晚年的杂论，则全用纯熟的白话文，讲关于人生、学艺等方面的大道理，平易，轻松，深入浅出，也不是板着面孔说教，而像一位长者在和你亲切交谈。“朱自清虽是一位诗人，可他的散文，仍能够满贮着那一种诗意。文学研究会的散文作家中，除冰心女士外，文学之美，要算他了。”郁达夫的这一评价当是公允的了。
朱自清先生已离开我们多年了，他在散文方面的成就至今仍值得我们学习、借鉴。
