Content Description

该书以杨宪益、黄苗子、荒芜、启功、郑超麟、李锐、杨帆、潘汉年、毛泽东、胡风、聂绀弩、舒芜、沈祖芬，等10余位文人、政治家的旧体诗为研究对象。这些人大都在上世纪50年代以后的各种政治斗争中经历了人生坎坷。考虑到古典诗词抒情言志的悠久传统，现当代旧体诗与革命历史结下不解之缘，也是可理解的。木山英雄正是从这个视角出发，取以传记资料、历史回忆录证其诗的解诗法，展开其论述的。其中体察诗人们精神苦闷、心理变动、对革命的不懈追求与理想的幻灭，并通过这种体察来理解几十年来革命中国的历史经验教训，构成该书的一个基本特色。

Author Description

木山英雄，日本著名的中国文学研究专家。1934年生于东京。毕业于东京大学，后任教于国立一桥大学至1997年，现为神奈川大学教授。主要著作有《北京苦住庵记——日中战争时代的周作人》、《读鲁迅<野草>》、《毛泽东时代的旧体诗》，译著有《山海经》、周作人《日本文化谈》、鲁迅《故事新编》等。

《人歌人哭大旗前》：
经历中的政治面貌，以仿佛如今不用细说的调子写就，不是很清楚。我下面将根据另外的以对本人的访谈为基础而成的李辉《生死两茫茫——文革中的黄苗子、郁风》（收入《风雨中的雕像》）等材料加以补足。“某大人物”是国民党要人、曾做过上海市长和广东省政府主席的吴铁城。由于父亲和参加过同盟会的孙文等国民党元老关系密切，黄苗子首先作为吴的秘书进入官场。所谓“简任官”，具体指国民党政府中央银行秘书处副处长兼行政院美援（美国援助）运用委员会秘书处处长及其他。很早就结下亲密交情的夏衍是共产党剧作家、国共合作下抗日统一战线报纸即实际上由共产党执掌的《救亡日报》的主编。曾在此编辑部工作过的画家郁风即现在的黄苗子夫人，其父亲郁华乃是与日本深有渊源的作家郁达夫之兄，被誉为硬骨头的高级法官。从两人结识开始，郁风就是左翼运动活跃的成员之一。1944年，在重庆郭沫若宅由夏衍作证婚人而举行了婚礼之后，黄苗子仍和地下党关系密切，不仅与周恩来夫妇、廖承志、潘汉年等活跃于公开场合的大干部们多有交往，而且还在其他方面暗地里协助过共产党。可是，尽管有这些复杂情况下的危险的合作，但履历上国民党高级官员的职衔在建国后激烈的政治运动中却忽然变成了“右派分子”的标签，与聂绀弩一样，他先被下放到北大荒“劳动改造”，后在“文革”中因“反革命”罪名入狱七年之久。而拥有阶级敌人“右派分子”丈夫却依然精力充沛的郁风，在“文革”中也被打倒（据刈间君讲，此人曾与影星时代的毛泽东夫人江青一起参加过集会、撒传单等活动，因关系过于密切而遭“封口”），而且蒙受到“苗子黑苗、铲除这株毒苗，郁风妖风，扫荡这股歪风”之绝妙的诗化口号的炮轰，同样也进了监狱。
自传中，黄苗子表现出欲把自己政治上被弄得一塌糊涂的一生，向大而言之的“历史使命”和小而言之的“人生境遇”方向加以消化乃至升华的意志，而从回忆文章开头就已然显示出来的浓厚的诙谐口吻，则让人感到他身上所带有的难以称之为意志的另一种与生俱来的东西。这无疑源自以漫画涉足文化界的秉性，而足以成为意志的东西是需要某种自觉才能发挥作用的。一如卷首的自传那样，已然消失了的“怨恨”，却与这种诙谐一起表现在附于卷末的《学诗乎？》一文中。这个题目来自孔子的问子学诗。即，以标题揭示出作为君子修养之正儿八经的诗观。
