本书是由北大洪子诚和奚密主编，吴晓东、姜涛和冷霜等新诗研究者参与编写，精选台港澳和大陆100年来108位诗人而成，编者、诗人的阵容皆可谓神采奕奕、耀眼夺目。编选者在今天类乎“诗三百”的极简约形式和十几卷本以至几十卷本的宏大规模之间，选取一种“适度”篇幅的选本作为补充，是旨在面向诗歌爱好者的普及读物，同时又为想了解新诗历史和现状的读者提供进一步深入的空间。为了让读者对诗人的生平、创作历程和艺术特点有所了解，诗选将简要“导读”的撰写作为重要的组成部分，也提供可以扩充阅读的诗集目录。编选者为这部诗选以“时间和旗”与“为美而想”为名，命名虽然带有偶然的因素，但也多少体现了他们对新诗与历史、时代的关连，以及新诗在艺术构型、探索走向上的某种理解。

Author Description

洪子诚，1939年生，广东揭阳人。北京大学中文系教授。1961年毕业于北京大学中文系后留校任教职，从事中国新诗、中国当代文学研究和教学工作。出版有《中国当代新诗史》（与刘登翰合著）、《中国当代文学史》、《问题与方法》、《我的阅读史》等著作。

奚密（英文名 Michelle Yeh），祖籍江苏宜兴，出生台湾台北，台大外文系学士，南加州大学比较文学博士，现任教于戴维斯加州大学东亚语言文化系，并兼系主任。研究范围以现代汉诗和比较诗学为主，兼及中国古典诗、英诗、台湾文学、诗歌翻译。学术著作之外，曾出版散文集《诗生活》、《香：文学，历史，生活》等。

吴晓东，北京大学中文系教授。著有：《阳光与苦难》、《象征主义与中国现代文学》、《漫读经典》、《文学的诗性之灯》、《二十世纪的诗心》、《文学性的命运》等。

姜涛，1970年生，北京大学中文系副教授，北京大学中国新诗所研究员，出版专著《新诗集与中国新诗的发生》、诗歌批评集《巴枯宁的手》、诗集《好消息》、《鸟经》等，曾获“刘丽安诗歌奖”、“全国优秀博士论文奖”、“第三届王瑶学术奖青年著作奖”、“第三届唐弢青年文学研究奖”等。

冷霜，1973年生，北京大学文学博士，现任教于中央民族大学文学与新闻传播学院，主要从事新诗的教学和研究。此外也从事诗歌写作，作品曾获刘丽安诗歌奖、首届“诗建设”新锐诗人奖等。
