Content Description

邓嗣禹是国际著名的历史学家、汉学家、图书文献目录学家，中国科举制度与朝贡制度理论研究的奠基者与创始人。研究领域包括中国文化史、中国典章制度史、中国古代史和中国近代史、太平天国史。《家国万里：邓嗣禹的学术与人生》收录了邓先生具有代表性的论文，分为中国文化软实力及国粹精华、各时期典章制度、古代史研究、唐宋史研究、明清史及近代史研究、太平天国史研究六个部分。

Author Description

邓嗣禹（1905—1988），燕京大学硕士，哈佛大学历史学博士，现代著名史学家、文献目录学家，中国科举制度与朝贡制度理论研究的创始人。早年师从国际汉学泰斗费正清，1942年获得博士学位，后来成为费正清得力的助手与长期的合作者，两人先后合作出版多部在国际上有影响的著作，如《中国对西方的反应》、《清代行政管理：三种研究》曾长期作为哈佛、牛津大学教材。曾任芝加哥大学东方研究院院长、印第安纳大学东亚研究中心主任等职，是1972年尼克松访华后，随同费正清第一批访华的六人代表团成员之一。

彭靖（1962—），邓嗣禹外孙，管理学博士，香港国际商学院客座教授、中国传记文学学会会员、“天一讲堂”特邀嘉宾，曾任中国产业转移投资促进会副秘书长。近年主要从事东方管理理论、科举制度、美国汉学家研究，在海内外著名刊物上发表学术论文、传记文学文章100余篇。2013年3月，在宁波“天一讲堂”主讲“科举制度与中国文化软实力”，深受广大听众欢迎。
