电影《捉妖记》从筹拍到上映历时7年，正式制作将近3年，全片共有超过1200个特效镜头，后期CG特效制作时间超过500天，动画及特效制作参与人员有400多人，全片有1000多个镜头贯穿CG特效的全流程，涉及模型、贴图、绑定、灯光测试、动画、角色特效、合成、剪辑等15个部门，仅仅创造一个CG角色就超过6个月，每一个环节的测试版本多达120个，哪怕一个简单的镜头也要制作2个月，而复杂的、渲染量大的镜头则需要100多天，放映时却只有5秒……

以上这些，让《捉妖记》在技术运用和表现方式上成为新一代华语奇幻电影的标杆之作。而本书试图从一张导演的手稿开始，讲述为这部影片每一个精彩的细节而奉献心血的艺术家们幕后创作的故事。

许诚毅，

毕业于香港理工大学，初在中国香港Quantum工作室担任卡通制作人，后迁居加拿大并在雪莱顿技术学院学习电脑动画制作，从1995年开始在美国梦工厂工作并一直是梦工厂的主力军，带领动画组创作各式的商业片、动画短片和故事片。代表作品有《怪物史瑞克》，该片曾获奥斯卡*佳动画片奖。2015年凭借《捉妖记》进入国际一流导演行列。

Introduction

我与《捉妖记》 / By 许诚毅

七年前，当电影《捉妖记》刚刚开始筹备的时候，我在随身的小本子上画出了一只小妖的雏形。彼时的我，完全不会想到从此将投入到一场旷日持久、如坐过山车般大起大落的冒险之中。后来的结果大家都知道了，《捉妖记》取得了成功，现在回想起来，依然觉得有些不可思议。所幸我们在电影里讲了一段还算温馨的故事，创造了几个讨人喜欢的角色，让一些观众在电影院里度过了开心的两小时，这已经让我十分感恩了。

我从小就热爱电影，热爱动画，在26岁时开始在美国梦工厂当动画师，很多年过去了，我一直都在做让我开心和充实的事情。在美国做动画电影的时候，在电影上映的同时，一般都会有一本介绍电影幕后创作的书出版，这样类型的图书作为电影的补充或升华，能与电影观众产生一种更亲密的情感联系。因为对于一件事情的来龙去脉，一件作品的从无到有，观众如果知道的细节越多，参与感和代入感就会越浓厚。不过有些可惜的是，在《捉妖记》上映之初，因为国内电影操作习惯的关系，当时并没有一本介绍幕后创作的书同期出版。而现在终于有契机可以去促成这件事情，也算是弥补了之前的遗憾。

做这本书的过程中让我最感动和高兴的，是又让我重新回到了几年前，大家为了《捉妖记》，为了胡巴，一起哭一起笑，一起吵架一起玩耍，一起奋斗的日日夜夜。这本书里采访了许多与我在《捉妖记》中共事的艺术家们，在电影上映一年后又重新听到、看到他们的感受，我立刻就无缝衔接回到了那段艰辛忐忑又充满热血的日子。他们因为《捉妖记》从世界各地汇聚到一起，像家人一样陪在我身边，陪我经历坎坷，与我一起成长。我真的十分庆幸能遇到他们，也十分荣幸能与他们分享成功。

这本书还仔细梳理和回顾了许多关于《捉妖记》电影制作时的细节，有些细节甚至连我自己都忘记了（不要惊讶，因为这个战线真的很长很长啊！），揭秘了很多真人与CG动画结合的制作流程和技术，还首次公开了影片中一些没有采用的场景、角色和妖的形象。都说电影是遗憾的艺术，其实在《捉妖记》最初的创意阶段，我们想了很多有意思的idea，也创作了很多妖的形象和场景，但最终因为技术或电影的整体需求，有一些没能出现在第一部电影中。现在因为这本书，它们终于可以跟大家见面了。我很希望之前没能实现的创意能够在后面的电影中实现，也希望我们在第二部、第三部《捉妖记》里可以有更多创意呈现给大家。

一部电影很短很短，只有两个小时，但每一部电影背后的故事都很长很长，我希望尽可能地让更多人看见，因为这些故事闪闪发光，温暖且有力量。所以，我要把这本好书献给《捉妖记》的全体创作人员。对我们所有人来说，参与这部电影，我们的人生都发生了改变；我也要把这本好书献给每一位喜欢《捉妖记》、喜欢动画电影的观众，如果我们的故事能给你带来一点点的激励，我们的技艺和灵感能给你带来一点点的启发，我们就很开心了。
