Content Description

《经典译林青少版：城南旧事》作者从小说的主角英子充满童真的视角，描绘了上个世纪二十年代北京城南的往事。
“疯”女人秀贞引起了英子的好奇和注意，并最终成为英子的朋友。原来秀贞曾与一个大学生暗中相爱，并怀上了孩子。后来大学生在母亲的催逼下不得不回到偏远的家乡，秀贞生下的女儿小桂子又被家人丢弃而生死不明。秀贞成天思念着不知下落的女儿以至行为“疯癫”，英子对她非常同情。英子的小伙伴妞儿的身世很像小桂子。有一天，英子发现她脖颈后有一个青记，想起秀贞的小桂子也有这样的胎记，就急忙带她去找秀贞。秀贞终于和离散六年的女儿相见相认。她立刻带妞儿去找寻爸爸，结果母女俩惨死在火车轮下。

Author Description

林海音（1918-2001），现代著名作家，原名林含英，小名英子，台湾苗栗头份人，出生于日本大阪，五岁时随父母到北京，定居城南。1948年她回到台湾后，台湾的社会生活和乡土习俗又注入到她的生活积累当中，林海音的生活积累有两个来源：一个来自旧北京，一个来自台湾，因此而创作了《城南旧事》、《英子的乡恋》等脍炙人口的作品。
文坛以“林先生”称呼林海音。她主编《联合报》副刊十年期间，建立报纸副刊成为文学的花园，而她正是花园的园丁。1968年，林海音创办“纯文学”出版社，联络了大批在台的文化界人士，提携了大量台湾的文学青年，出版了众多文学名作，被称为台湾文学“祖母级的人物”，开启了台湾文学出版的黄金时代，是台湾新文学的奠基者。

《经典译林青少版：城南旧事》：
我今天进了惠安馆，秀贞不在屋里。炕桌上摆着一个大玻璃缸，里面是几条小金鱼，游来游去。我问王妈：
“秀贞呢？”
“跨院里呢！”
“我去找她。”我说。
“别价，她就来，你这儿等着，看金鱼吧！”
我把鼻子顶着金鱼缸向里看，金鱼一边游一边嘴巴一张一张的在喝水，我的嘴也不由得一张一张的在学鱼喝水。有时候金鱼游到我的面前来，隔着一层玻璃，我和鱼鼻子顶牛儿啦！我就这么看着，两腿跪在炕沿上，都麻了，秀贞还不来。
我翻腿坐在炕沿上，又等了一会，还不见秀贞来，我急了，溜出了屋子，往跨院里去找她。那跨院，仿佛一直都是关着的，我从来也没见过谁去那里。我轻轻推开跨院门进去，小小的院子里有一棵不知什么树，已经长了小小的绿叶子了。院角地上是干枯的落叶，有的烂了。秀贞大概正在打扫，但是我进去时看见她一手拿着扫帚倚在树干上，一手掀起了衣襟在擦眼睛，我悄悄走到她跟前，抬头看着她。她也许看见我了，但是没理会我，忽然背转身子去，伏着树干哭起来了，她说：
“小桂子，小桂子，你怎么不要妈了呢？”
那声音多么委屈，多么可怜啊！她又哭着说：
“我不带你，你怎么认得道儿，远着呢！”
我想起妈妈说过，我们是从很远很远的家乡来的，那里是个岛，四面都是水，我们坐了大轮船，又坐大火车，才到这个北京来。我曾问妈妈什么时候回去，妈说早着呢，来一趟不容易，多住几年。那么秀贞所说的那个远地方，是像我们的岛那么远吗？小桂子怎么能一个人跑了去？我替秀贞难过，也想念我并不认识的小桂子，我的眼泪掉下来了。在模模糊糊的泪光里，我仿佛看见那骑着大金鱼的胖娃娃，是什么也没穿啊！
我含着眼泪，大大地倒抽了一口气，为的不让我自己哭出来，我揪揪秀贞裤腿叫她：
“秀贞！秀贞！”
她停止了哭声，满脸泪蹲下来，搂着我，把头埋在我的前胸擦来擦去，用我的夹袄和软软的背心，擦干了她的泪，然后她仰起头来看看我笑了，我伸出手去调顺她的揉乱的刘海儿，不由得说：
“我喜欢你，秀贞。”
秀贞没有说什么，吸溜着鼻涕站起来。天气暖和了，她也不穿缚腿棉裤了，现在穿的是一条肥肥的散腿裤。她的腿很瘦吗？怎么风一吹那裤子，显得那么晃荡。她浑身都瘦的，刚才蹲下来伏在我的胸前时，我看那块后脊背，平板儿似的。
秀贞拉着我的手说：
“屋里去，帮着拾掇拾掇。”
